Funko Reveals Marvel Pop! Figures Exclusive to SDCC

With Comic Con International: San Diego just a little over a month away, comic book and toy companies are promoting in full swing the exclusives they are bringing down to the titanic event. No stranger to the convention, Funko will deliver a wide range of iconic Marvel Comics-based figures this year — not the least of which will be a Tony Stark from Spider-Man: Homecoming.

Funko has revealed its third wave of Comic Con Marvel exclusives. This year’s batch of Marvel Pop! Vinyls draw inspiration from both the movies and relatively new characters from various Marvel comics.

The Pop! Vinyls include Captain America — with Bucky as Captain America — Red She-Hulk, Gwenpool with Selfie Stick and the Rock Candy edition Gwenpool.

Last but not least, there is Tony Stark (holding his Iron Man helmet), as seen in Spider-Man: Homecoming, dressed in his snazzy street clothes.

There will be more details about additional Funko Comic Con exclusives as the event draws near.

Directed by Jon Watts (“Clown”), written by John Francis Daley and Jonathan M. Goldstein (“Vacation”) and starring Tom Holland, Michael Keaton, Marisa Tomei, Robert Downey Jr., Zendaya, Donald Glover and many, many others, Spider-Man: Homecoming swings into theaters on July 7, 2017.

Star Wars: Funko Brings Glow-in-the-Dark Snoke Pop! Vinyl to SDCC

Summer is in full swing, and that can only mean Comic-Con International: San Diego is getting closer with each passing day. The media convention annually draws fans from across the globe, all eager to catch event-exclusive trailers and toys during the brief window they’re available. Funko will deliver a wide range of iconic Star Wars figures this year, not least of which being a glow-in-the-dark Snoke, the shadowy antagonist from Star Wars: The Force Awakens.

Funko has revealed their first wave of Comic-Con Star Wars exclusives. The second wave announcement is sure to be close behind. This year’s batch of Star Wars Pop! Vinyls draw inspiration from numerous films in the franchise.

The Pop! Vinyls include a duel package featuring a hologram Star Wars: A New Hope-inspired Princess Leia and accompanying R2-D2, as well as a Rogue One: A Star Wars Story Combat Assault Tank Trooper and Bohdi Rook figure.

Finally, there is the glow-in-the-dark Pop! Vinyl of Supreme Leader Snoke sitting in his glow-in-the-dark throne. The Snoke figure is the largest of the bunch, standing at 6 inches tall.

There will be more details about additional Funko Pop! Comic-Con exclusives as the event nears.

The next film in the Star Wars franchise is Star Wars: The Last Jedi. Debuting in theaters on December 15, Star Wars: The Last Jedi is a production of Lucasfilm directed by Rian Johnson and starring Mark Hamill as Luke Skywalker, Carrie Fisher as General Leia Organa, Adam Driver as Kylo Ren, Daisy Ridley as Rey, John Boyega as Finn, Oscar Isaac as Poe Dameron and Lupita Nyong’o as Maz Kanata.

Funko’s Darth Vader TIE Fighter Toy Is Cuter Than Any Ewok

Fresh from the Battle of Yavin, Funko has unveiled its Darth Vader in TIE Fighter Pop! Deluxe figure, depicting the Star Wars villain and his classic starfighter.

Arguably the most iconic villain in film history, and easily one of the most recognizable, Darth Vader first Force-choked his way into pop culture in 1977’s Star Wars. Since then, both he and the franchise have become worldwide phenomenon for generations of fans.

The Darth Vader Pop! Deluxe! vinyl will be made available in Target sometime in mid-June. It’s worth noting the toy’s base is the upper part of the first Death Star, evoking memories of debut of the TIE Advanced x 1 during the Battle of Yavin, when Darth Vader shot down Rebel fighters in the space station’s Meridian trench, before being picked off himself by the Millennium Falcon. Of course, that ended up being a blessing in disguise for the Sith Lord, who escaped destruction of the Death Star.

Darth Vader was seen in the Star Wars cinematic universe in 2016’s Rogue One: A Star Wars Story. Directed by Gareth Edwards from a script by Gary Whitta and Chris Weitz, the film stars Felicity Jones, Diego Luna, Ben Mendelsohn, Donnie Yen, Mads Mikkelsen, Alan Tudyk, Jiang Wen and Forest Whitaker. It’s available on Blu-ray, DVD and Digital HD.

Funko Unveils Kingsman Pop! Vinyls

Funko has just revealed their new line of Kingsman Pop! vinyls. Known for their adorable interpretation of movie, TV and pop culture figures, Funko has made figures based on Kingsman characters Harry, Eggsy, internet billionaire Valentine and Gazelle. Just in time for the release of the film’s sequel Kingsman: The Golden Circle, these Kingsman Pop! figures will hit stores this September.

Kingsman: The Golden Circle will be a direct sequel to 2015’s Kingsman: The Secret Service, which was inspired by the comic of the same name by Mark Millar and Dave Gibbons. The followup spy action-comedy will bring Eggsy, Merlin and Roxy to the United States to join forces with Kingsman’s counterpart, the Statesmen.

New Attack On Titan Pop! Vinyl Toys Unleashed By Funko

Funko has revealed new “Attack on Titan” Pop! vinyl figures and key chains featuring the fan-favorite characters Levi Ackerman and Annie Leonhart, as well as the Female Titan and the Armored Titan.

Hajime Isayama’s bestselling fantasy-action manga and its hit anime adaptation are set in a world where the last remnants of humanity live in cities surrounded by enormous walls that provide some protection against enormous, flesh-eating humanoids known as Titans. The story, which debuted in 2009, initially centers on Eren Yeager, his adopted sister Mikasa Ackerman and childhood friend Armin Arlert, but expands to include numerous other characters — including the fan-favorite Levi — as we begin to learn the truth about the Titans.

The Levi and Annie Funko Pop! vinyl figures are depicted in their familiar uniforms, while the Female Titan and Armored Titan look like their monstrous anime counterparts, pulled-back skin and all. Each of these figures stands 6 inches tall. The Pop! figures and key chains are targeted to arrive in June.

The second season of “Attack on Titan” debuted April 1, more than three and a half years after the conclusion of the first season. The series is available for streaming on Funimation and Crunchyroll at the same time as it airs in Japan.

Wonder Woman: Walmart Hosting Exclusive Mattel Toys

Until “Wonder Woman” arrives on man’s shores in a few months, expectant audiences will have to find their Amazing Amazon fix elsewhere. Luckily, DC Entertainment and Warner Bros. have you covered for the time being. Like with many other superhero movies, it looks like Wonder Woman will receive an impressive toy line as well.

Coming out just before the film’s release, Warner Bros. Consumer Products recently teamed up with Mattel to create a line of “Wonder Woman” toys. The figures will debut on Friday in a first-to-market release at Walmart stores nationwide, as well as on Walmart.com. As part of the month-long program, which ends April 28, Walmart will offer “Wonder Woman”-inspired dolls and toys, which includes an exclusive 2-pack set, featuring Wonder Woman and love interest Steve Trevor. A further exclusive roll-out of WW toys will then proceed to follow in May, with products from Jakks Pacific, Funko and Fisher-Price.

Warner Bros. Consumer Products president Pam Lifford expressed his enthusiasm for the upcoming “Wonder Woman” action figures, saying, “We’re thrilled to bring Wonder Woman front and center to retailers worldwide in support of her first solo feature film. WBCP has developed an incredible assortment of trend-right products in collaboration with our best-in-class licensees, allowing fans of all ages to express their fandom and bring Wonder Woman’s empowerment, inspiration and beauty to life.”

Based on a screenplay by Allan Heinberg and Geoff Johns from a story by Heinberg and Zack Snyder, “Wonder Woman” follows the Amazon princess who, after discovering the body of American fighter pilot Steve Trevor washed ashore washed ashore on Themyscira, sets out to bring an early end to World War I. The film takes place long before the events of “Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice,” where the character made her theatrical debut.

Opening June 2, “Wonder Woman” stars Gal Gadot, Chris Pine, Connie Nielsen, Robin Wright, Lucy Davis, Danny Huston, Elena Anaya, Saïd Taghmaoui, Ewen Bremner, Lisa Loven Kongsli and David Thewlis.
