MCM London Comic Con Funko Pops Exclusives Go for Over 250% on Ebay

One of the big booths with the big lines at MCM London Comic Con was Funko Pop, with walls full of pop vinyl figures and six exclusive to MCM. We listed the Funko Pops MCM London Comic Con on our list of stuff to pick up at the show.  Not that they needed any help…

Each was sold for £15, but have attracted a lot of attention in the aftermarket.

The two most demanded are Iron Spider bobblehead from the Avengers: Infinity War movie and the Yondu bobblehead from Guardians Of The Galaxy Vol 2.

Yondu has hit £40 on eBay repeatedly while Iron Spider has sold for £38. 

Chewbacca Flocked Bobble Head has gone for £32. While King Groot glow-in-the-dark has gone for up to £25. 

The Alien Rick exclusive figure has yet to be bought on eBay to record a price… though figures are avaulabkl for around £35. That price may need to drop a little…

Let’s Take a Look at Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom Dino Funko Pops!

Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom is hitting theaters next month. After a wave of Pops celebrating the original Jurassic Park, Funko now has Pops from the new film hitting shelves. I made a decision when these were announced that I would only collect the dinosaurs, so I left Owen and Claire behind. Today we will be looking at the three new dinos stomping into our Funko collections!

All three look really cool in the box. I love the Pop art on the front of each, great detail there. Like the T-Rex in the Jurassic Park wave, the Indoraptor is sideways in the box, and my collector brain hates it with a fiery passion. It throws off my displays and drives me completely bonkers. It looks cool, but I wish they had not done it.

The Pops themselves are a mixed bag. Jurassic World fans will be excited that these are such great sculpts. From the scales to the tails, there is an awful lot to love. One thing that I don’t love however is the fact that they do not stand at all without the included plastic base. Blue stands ok, but even he fell over when touched. The Stygimoloch is the worst. His heavy head weighs down the front of his body to the point where it is impossible to get it to stay. Like I said though, pop them onto the stand are you are golden. Thankfully each comes with one.

Of the three, I am blown away by the Indoraptor. Between this and the Mattel version, I am pretty excited to see Jurassic World and find out more about this one. It looks ferocious, posed ready to strike and letting out a magnificent roar. The yellow stripes down its body and the way its arm is cocked just up the cool factor.

Without the stands these would be a disaster for loose collectors. But, they are in there so I feel comfortable saying that these are must buys. Dinosaur collectors, Jurassic World and Park collectors, Funko collectors. these are great for all. You can order some for yourself here.

Let’s Unbox The Funko Smugglers Bounty Solo: A Star Wars Story Box

Solo: A Star Wars Story is now in theaters, and Funko is celebrating with a line of Pops, Mystery Minis, and all sorts of other collectibles. Their Smugglers Bounty box for the month is no exception, with it being Solo themed. I wasn’t sure what to make of this box when it was announced, and when it arrived I was pleasantly surprised at the contents. Many thanks to Funko for sending this one over! Let’s take a look!

The box features Lando, and when you open it we get a pin! No patch sadly, but I am super glad the pins made a return here. A blaster keychain is ok, but I always want a patch if I can get one.

The hat is the only miss for me here. I like the color, the Mud Trooper is a cool trooper design, I am just not wild on the hat itself. It is a bit flimsy and I prefer stretch fits and fitted hats to adjustable or snapbacks. I know others feel opposite, so it will come down to personal preference. But for me this is one I will pass on to another collector.

If it wasn’t for the Pop set in here, this would be the highlight of the box. Is there a cooler character in the galaxy than Lando? Sporting his “island” look from the film, Lando is looking suave as hell and I am very happy to add him to my collection.

But this Pop two-pack is magnificent.

*MILD SPOILERS*

This may as well be a Movie Moment set! It commemorates the first meeting between the two greatest friends in the galaxy, and it is too perfect. Chewbacca is covered in mud and his fur is all droopy. My only complaint here is that I wish this one was flocked. Han is in his Imperial Army suit, scuffed up from rolling around with Chewy. It is a great moment in the film and I could not be happier to have it in my collection.

All and all, this is one of the better Star Wars boxes in awhile. The next box is Revenge of the Sith, one of my personal favs, so I can’t wait to see what they throw in there. There are hundreds of things one could pick up at MCM London Comic Con, on this weekend at the Excel Centre this weekend. Here are just fifteen of them.

The ashcan of Stan Lee’s Lucky Man, the full comic being out in August. Free from the TPub stand in Comics Village, get your copy signed by the stars of the TV show.

The DC Boutique has the gold foil editions of Action Comics #1000 for £20 and of Batman #46 for £12. Both go for a lot more on eBay. And the Superman trunks are free…

Rick & Morty/Invader Zim artist Sarah Graley has Our Super Adventure hardcover collection, out for the show, for £10. Utter bargain and a great read. Look for her in Comics Village. Why not see Marc Ellerby while you are there as well?

Forbidden Planet has anti-possession bandanas. Of course they have. Instant cosplay though. Nine quid.

Exclusively for the show is Hamish Steele‘s collection of Deadendia. You won’t see this in shops for a while, but you will see it at his Comics Village stall, just for MCM attendees.

Before it’s upcoming Toy Fair appearance, here is Comic Turns, a card game which you use to create your own comic strips and stories. The perfect game for anyone who likes the comics medium and it opens up what comics can achieve. And plenty of Understanding Comics-style top hats too. At Karen Rubins‘ stall, ten quid a pack.

Lizard Men represents a jump up from indie publishing house Comichaus, and is new for the show. Every single person in this book deserves a career – and the odds are they will get it. Here is where you get to jump in on a team who may well represent the new 2000AD of British comics.

Funko Pops, exclusive to the show. The flocked Chewbacca ones were going fast. Fifteen quid a pop – as it were.

Kin, the new comic from Sarah Jones, an incredibly bright star in the comics firmament. Pick up her comics before everything goes insane. Ten quid for her new book, debuting at MCM, and a privilege at that price too.

Project Autumn, the comic of Comics Village, is on sale and it’s a wonderful way to celebrate and commemorate all the work around you at MCM Comic Con – and the comics community that has grown up from it.

Fresh from his work with Brandon Graham on Island, and with new work for Rat Queens on its way, Will Kirkby is selling his Wraith King artbook for a tenner, and a beautiful journey of discovery into world making it is, as well.

Star Wars artist Gary Erskine is giving away free prints of his Roller Derby Girls work, a bargain you will find hard to match.

And if you have a little more cash on hand. Geof Darrow is selling original pieces of artwork for £50. One of the premier comic book artists in the comics industry, with incredibly detailed and iconic work, this may well be the true bargain of the show… and pick up a free sketch book from recent years while you are at it.

Funko Round-Up: Solo, My Hero Academia, and Carmen Sandiego!

Funko has made a few announcements for new products the last two days, and we want to show them to you! New Disney Store exclusive Dorbz, Carmen Sandiego, and one of the most popular anime shows around My Hero Academia will be getting Pops. Let’s take a look at everything!

Following popular children shows like Pee Wee and Mister Rogers, Carmen Sandiego is getting two Pop figures. One regular release, and a fading away version exclusive to Gamestop. These hit stores in July.

School’s in session as young superheroes-in-training learn how
to save the world in My Hero Academia. In honor of the
Japanese adventure anime series and its protagonist, Izuku,
Funko is pleased to announce a line of My Hero Academia Pop!

and weakened state. All Might’s protégé, Izuku Midoriya,
(also known as Deku), gets the Pop! vinyl treatment,
highlighting his determination to become the best!
Hero-in-training Shoto Todoroki, fellow student

(also known as Eraser Head) all get the Pop! vinyl treatment.

My Hero Academia is the latest anime property to get the Pop treatment. While I am not terribly familiar with the show or the manga, I do know it is quite popular. All of the designs are awesome, and the sculpts are pretty unique. Look for these in August.

Tickets Still On Sale For Reed POP’s First MCM London Comic Con, Starting Tomorrow

Last year, Bleeding Cool broke the news that Reed Expo has bought the MCM shows in the UK. And so it came to pass, the announcement was made, and suddenly everyone at MCM wanted to talk to Bleeding Cool about how we knew.

Tomorrow sees the first MCM London Comic Con that Reed has built from scratch. There are actual comic book guests, including Geof Darrow, Liam Sharp, Cullen Bunn, Ken Lashley and Matteo Sclara and plenty of familiar faces for Comics Village including Marc Ellerby, Gary Erskine, Joe Glass, Destiny Blue and Jess Bradley.

As ever the show will be dominated by Big Media. But there will be more than enough comic book stuff to fill a long weekend.

I’ll be there, pounding the floor as usual. Do feel free to say hi… and expect plenty of reports from the nearby hotel lobbies. And yes, there are tickets still available. It will be a big show, but it has expanded its footprint in the ExCel Centre, inside and out.

So what else can we expect? Well the DC Boutique will be making its UK debut.

Our own Royal Mail will make their show debut as Stand 1919 will have Royal Mail’s Star Wars (£10) and Game of Thrones (£15) stamp sets. Both souvenirs can also be officially stamped by Royal Mail to commemorate the date of your visit to the show.

There will be the world premiere in Japanese with English subtitles of Batman Ninja on Sunday, 12:30.

Smart Arts Gallery will have a new limited edition, Universal Studios-licensed coin limited to just 9,995 worldwide, for Jurassic Park’s 25th Anniversary coin on Stand 2318 for £10, the first 300 visitors to the stand each day of get a free Jurassic Park art print worth £10.

MCM has its own T-shirts to sell, new for the show.

Oh and there are some MCM Funko exclusives…

Hot Topic Releases Jurassic Park Collection for the Film’s 25th Anniversary

The much-beloved dinosaur cinematic touchstone film Jurassic Park has a big anniversary this year, and retailer Hot Topic wanted to share in the celebration. It’ll be 25 years since the first Jurassic Park film hit theaters come June 11th, and the next installment in the sequel franchise Jurassic World releases 11 days later.

Hot Topic has a pretty great collection of JP-inspired items for guys, gals, and dinosaur enthusiasts of all types.

The first item that catches my eye (even though I am very anti-pink in my own wardrobe) is this instantly recognizable Ellie Settler (Laura Dern) crop top with some nice additions. It’s available in XS-3X and plus sizes!

There’s also this Owen Grady (Chris Pratt) signature vest from Jurassic World listed in men’s sizes from XS-3X.

We kind of love this unisex Isla Nublar map shirt too, available in XS-3X.

The Jurassic Park collection also has some non-clothing items, like this logo’d canteen (perfect for when you’re stuck up a tree with Lex and Tim), some FUNKO Pop Vinyls of characters like Dennis and Dr. Ian Malcom, and my personal favorite: amber soap complete with dino DNA mosquito.

The line is available now, and with the 30% site-wide sale for the next seven days, you don’t have to worry about sparing any expense.

Spyro The Dragon Gets a Funko Pop! Plus- E3 Exclusives!

Spyro the Dragon is coming soon to Funko. A Pop version of everyone’s favorite video game dragon will be hitting stores in September. This means that with this release and last years Crash Bandicoot Pops we are one step closer to having our video game icons all in Pop form (ball is your your court Nintendo).

The original roast master, Spyro from the Spyro™ video game
series is back and bringing the heat as the latest
addition to the Funko Pop! family.
The beloved purple dragon comes complete
with full Pop! styling with his dragonfly pal Sparx.

Add this Pop! and Buddy to your collection this
summer, just in time to celebrate Spyro’s 20th anniversary.

Adorable. The Sparx is awesome as well, that is a great call packing that in here.

On top of Spyro, they have also announced what their exclusives will be at E3. All E3 Funko Pops are at the show in partnership with Gamestop, meaning most of these will all be shared exclusives with Gamestop stores.

Exclusives will include a Master Chief with Active Cammo, an 8-Bit Mega Man Black Hole Bomb Pop, a Super Shadow Sonic the Hedgehog Pop, and two different Cuphead Pops: gold King Dice and a glow-in-the-dark Legendary Chalice. The Super Shadow and Chalice Pops will be limited to 1500. The other three will be shared exclusives will Gamestop stores.

They will also have four Pop Tees available. All of them will be in special packaging, with the Cuphead one will be revealed on June 11 (wonder why that is…). Out of the other three, the Kingdom Hearts one is going to prove pretty popular if I had to guess. Although the Deadpool taco truck will also be a fun one to track down. Both of those will be shared with Gamestop stores. The other two are exclusive to E3.

Look for all of those in June and the Spyro in stores in September.
