Funko Soda Brings Limited Edition Back to Collecting [Review]

Funko Soda is one of my newest obsessions and if you've been able to get your hands on your own you know why. These new collectibles from Funko are spectacular and are going to be a huge hit! We have already seen two figures already with Crusader Rabbit and Green Hornet which you can find here. This time we will be taking a look at Fred Flintstone and Frankenberry. A lot of people are curious where to get these cans and your best bet is online drops. I was able to lock down these two on HotTopic online during a late night drop that didn't last long. The value of them seems to be all over the place but with places like Hot Topic and BoxLunch we are seeing a $14.99 price tag. Enough talk of the cans, let's crack open a couple of Funko Soda Brews and see what we got!

First up Frankenberry is taking a step away from his iconic cereal for some Funko Soda. His vinyl collectible is limited to only 7,500 pieces and like all the rest, he has a chase variant. His can is like the rest but features a pink styling with the text.

We did not get a Funko Soda chase this time but if you were curious, the chase is a chocolate version of the character. He is pretty awesome when I finally had him in my hand which I was surprised about. He is posed kind of odd but he has a vintage vibe to him that I love. The design of Frankenberry makes it seem like it is something you could have found in a cereal box and I dig it!

Fred Flintstone is next and he is also a 7,500 Limited Edition Figure. His chase version is a blue version of the figure that Funko has also make a Pop version of. If we are lucky we will get one of the chases. The can, like the rest, features a different color that suits the character.

The Fred Flintstone we got was the normal version but boy is he awesome. This vinyl figure is pretty retro styled and has a lot of character. These Funko Soda figures are all unique and carry this old school feeling with then and I think that's a huge factor of there popularity. The other factors like the chases and the limited edition status probably also help. Fred is shown with his classic outfit and with the can by his side it'll look nice on any desk or collection.

"Black Widow": Begins Natasha's Path of Redemption [TRAILER]

Marvel released the final trailer to the upcoming Black Widow with Scarlett Johansson fronting an all-star cast. The film takes place between Captain America: Civil War (2016) and Avengers: Infinity War (2018). Natasha (Johansson) reconnects with her family in Russia tying up loose ends confronting the program that created her.

Marvel Studios

Highlights

The latest trailer comes from the perspective of Yelena Belova (Florence Pugh), who tells her sister Natasha of the nefarious plans led by Taskmaster. He wields a destructive shield in the similar vein of Captain America (Chris Evans). We also meet Natasha's parents Melina Vostokoff (Rachel Weisz) and Alexei Shostakov/Red Guardian (David Harbour) as the adventure becomes a family affair.

General Thaddeus "Thunderbolt" Ross (William Hurt) is another noteworthy figure in the trailer. I commend Marvel for still having a use for him. Universal still refuses to budge on doing anything more with their solo Hulk film rights.

"At birth the Black Widow (aka Natasha Romanova) is given to the KGB, which grooms her to become its ultimate operative. When the U.S.S.R. breaks up, the government tries to kill her as the action moves to present-day New York, where she is a freelance operative.

Origins

Created by Stan Lee, Don Rico, and Don Heck in 1964, Johansson played the MCU incarnation of Black Widow since Phase I. She made her debut in Iron Man 2 (2010). She reprised the role six more times: The Avengers (2012), Captain America: The Winter Soldier (2014), Avengers: Age of Ultron (2015(, Civil War, Infinity War, and Avengers: Endgame (2019).

Black Widow is directed by Cate Shortland with writers Eric Pearson(Thor: Ragnarok), Ned Benson, and Jac Schaeffer. The film also stars O-T Fagbenle and Ray Winstone.

The film will be the first of Phase IV for the MCU as it comes to theaters on May 1st.

Wonder Woman is Golden in the New Iron Studios Statue

Wonder Woman is one of DC Comics' mighty trinity! Her popularity has only risen in the past years too and I'm sure will continue with her big screen debuts. With Wonder Woman 84 months away, I expect to see a lot more collectibles hype up the movie. One of the biggest things to come out of the 84 trailers is Wonder Woman's newest costume. Her golden armor is quite unique and has everyone wanting to release their own collectible of her. Hell, most of the Funko Pop line of the Wonder Woman 84 figures is the gold armor. Iron Studios is flying in on the action with there newest DC statue. This dynamic statue features Princess Diana in her new angelic style gold armor set with her Lasso of Truth. Unlike most of the Iron Studios statues, this one features a secondary head. This will allow collectors to swap between a helmet and an unhelmeted version of Wonder Woman. This is one hell of a statue and from the pose to the tree in the base. This highly detailed statue is a true honor to Wonder Woman and any fan of her should add this collectible to their collection today.

The Wonder Woman 84 Angel Statue is priced at $169.99. She is set to fly on in December 2020 and pre-orders are already live and you can find her located here.

"Welcome to the future. Life is good, but it can be better. And why shouldn't it be? All you need is to want it. Think about finally having everything you always wanted." – Max Lord from WW84
