On the “Zero” Day of “Mr. Robot,” USA Network Gave to Me… A Chance to Win a Mask from FSociety! [PREVIEW]

Today is the day! The sun is shining, the computers are clean, society is economically collapsing…wait, what? That’s right, fans of USA Network’s hacker drama Mr. Robot. It comes back TONIGHT… but right now? We have one last present from our countdown tree.

Before we get to our final “gift”, we have a quick recap of what all we’ve gotten so far from Mr. Robot’s “Tree of Commercialism” – in festive rhyme, of course!

mr. robot
USA Network

Start with Day “Eleven” and you’ll get “Silver Bells”.

Day “Ten”  shows Zhang and Mr. Price, who sounds like he’s in Hell.

Day “Nine” gives us cast photos, posters if you like.

Day “Eight” saw Dom interrogated, try as they might.

Day “Seven” was a holiday card, from F-Society.

Day “Six” presents trinkets, Funko POP! figures we all need.

Day “Five” is a sweater to keep you toasty while you’re hacking.

Day “Four” peeks behind the scenes, perspective we’ve been lacking.

Day “Three” delivers throwbacks, in Christmas sitcom form…

(…a happy family together, something Elliot mourns)

Day “Two” has more interviews and a look at the season.

Day “One” has Angela Moss, loyal to Whiterose… but for what reason?

“Zero” hour, we’re almost there – win the FSociety mask and it’s yours to wear.

USA Network

That’s right – today is the last day of the countdown and the day of the premiere of Mr. Robot’s fourth and final season.

Today’s final gift is a gif of the FSociety mask and a chance to win one autographed by the cast. So there’s that.

I don’t mean to be a grumpy fan here, but it just seems like the hype has topped out, for me at least. I have been so excited for this, and I almost feel fatigued with all the promo content and trailers and sneak previews – how much is enough, USA Network?

I’m not saying I don’t want any, and the advent countdown is for sure a cute and very on brand idea, but it’s just a lot. I mean, we get radio silence for years between seasons – even once the season is in production, we get basically nothing official. And then? A month before the season drops, we start getting flooded with content.

You already had us on board, USA. We’re loyal, and we can only get so hype. Trust us, we’re hyped enough.

BB-8, Kylo Ren and Rey are Getting Kotobukiya Statues

BB-8, Kylo Ren and Rey are all making their rounds around the collectible’s circuit. With the Star Wars saga ending in December with Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker it is no surprise. The Star Wars saga has been beloved by many fans over the decades and it will be a shame to see it go. But until then we get blessed with a massive amount of collectibles. Kotobukiya has just announced three new ARTFX+ statues. First, we are getting BB-8 and D-O, with both droids come on the same base. It looks like BB-8 comes with extra attachments, as you can remove one of the orange circles on his body as well as give him thumbs up. D-O is a plain stationary position on a crate. Next, we are getting Supreme Leader Kylo Ren. He is posing an action stance hand out as if he was doing a force push. He does have a cloak on and it has a blowing effect. A neat little effect with a lightsaber showing off the instability. Kylo Ren’s mask is also updated Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker film with the scarring repairs. And of course, you can’t have Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker statues without the leading lady, Rey. I am slightly confused about her posed position. She is turning around with lightsaber in hand but her details on this statue are honestly astounding. The base shows off a sand detail, possibly based off of Jakku? Even if the position of Rey is slightly off this would be an amazing statue to own for any Rey fans.

BB-8, Kylo Ren, and Rey Kotobukiya ARTFX+ Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker statues are all up and available for pre-order. D-O and BB-8 statue is set for release November 2019 and is priced at $109.99 it is available for pre-order here. Kylo Ren is set for release March 2020 and it’s priced at $119.99 in his pre-order link is located here. Rey is set for a February 2020 release and she is priced at $170.99 for the pre-order link is here. With a price like that, I wonder if we’ll be seeing more statue pieces for this character.

Mandalorian First Edition and the Hunt on Triple Force Friday [Experience]

The hunt begins like every other day for a collector but they have one mission. Friday, October 4 was not only Triple Force Friday but Funko Pop’s got released for New York Comic Con. So for any hunt, you have to be up early and ready to hit as many stores as possible but also have a game plan.

With Hot Topic opening up at 9 the goal was to first hit Walmart and Target before the other stores opened up at 10 for Funko releases. Walmart was supposed to be the first stop but my partner on the ground said no Star Wars figures were present in the store. This wasn’t unheard of as a lot of Walmart’s were not prepared for the influx of collectors of Star Wars. Our next goal was to hit Target to find the new 10-inch Boba Fett’s as well as the design style Boba Fett Funko. Upon entering the toy section of fellow bounty hunter pass by with the elusive Carbonized Mandalorian in hand. This got our hearts racing as we hit the Star Wars toy area. There he was, just like Han Solo in Jabba’s Palace, a Carbonized Target Exclusive Mandalorian figure. Only one was left, and I just had to have it!!

No common Mandalorian Black Series figures were found at Target so our hunt continued to find any first edition figure of the elusive Mandalorian. Next, we hit the next star system, GameStop, after finding out they opened up at 9 AM. We rushed to snag up the Funko Pops so we wanted. For me, it was Suzie from Stranger Things and the Hero Killer Stain from My Hero Academia.

Next stop was the outpost, Barnes & Noble, we waited in line for them to open at 10. We were the first in line upon the doors opening raced to the bottom floor in hopes of finding the Mandalorian or any first edition at this rate. After talking to a couple of employees the Star Wars display was moved from the back to the show floor and that is where we found him… Like Luke Skywalker trying to blow up the Death Star, we were on target and a Mandalorian Black series figure, the common, was here.

This marks the second bounty for the day as a Star Wars collector, but the hunt does not end just yet. Tech home world, Best Buy was next on our list, looking for the exclusive AT-ST for Triple Force Friday but no luck. The mall was followed by after but no opportunities there as no sign of any sort of Star Wars figure. Hot Topic was bypassed as the Funko Pop exclusives were acquired last night online to beat the line. The hunt couldn’t end just yet so after a quick search, two more planets (Walmarts) were in the local area. The first hunting ground (Walmart) had some new Triple Force Friday vintage figures but was completely wiped of all the Black Series. 15 minutes later I arrived at the next Outpost (Walmart) location only to be sadly disappointed as no signs of intelligent life were here as they didn’t even know what Triple Force Friday was. Down on my luck, I decided to give it one more try, a planet (Walmart) on the Outer Rim, as I have had luck there in the past. A 25 spaceflight drive later I arrived at Walmart only to rush to the back to see no Star Wars toys on display at all. Upon entering the toy aisle and employee push the cart in, on the cart, a box, one lonely box. I waited patiently as she opens the box only to reveal eight first edition Star Wars Black Series figures! What parallel planet is this? Not only find one bounty but all eight just sitting there recently unboxed. Deciding not to be greedy and a friendly bounty hunter I pull the one Mandalorian Black Series figure first edition for myself and leave the others.

The hunt itself is always a rush, always hold out and try to not pay the flipper or eBay price as you might get lucky. The day was long and full of space travel and Star Wars music but in the end, I was a Bounty Hunter looking for his prize. Jabba would be pleased with my score and I can fly off into the two suns sunset a happy bounty hunter. All three Mandalorians have been secured in the hold and are ready to be taken to the collectors’ vault. Pre-order your own today here.

Bounty Hunters From “The Mandalorian” Get Kotobukiya ARTFX Statues

Bounty hunters always intrigued Star Wars fans, ever since their appearance in Star Wars: Empire Strikes Back. The mystery surrounding these characters was always just so appealing. November 12 we will finally be getting a live-action Star Wars television series surrounding the bounty hunter life. Kotobukiya takes their step into the Outer Rim with The Mandalorian with two new upcoming ARTFX+ statues. Arriving first is bounty hunter IG-11 who is ready to collect some bounties. The statue shows the assassin droid posed with a blaster rifle in hand. The detail for IG-11 is quite remarkable as every little mechanical piece is detailed to perfection. The Mandalorian is also getting his own Kotobukiya ARTFX+ statue. Posing a battle stance, he has a rifle on his back and a pistol in his hand. This statue shows off of a western-style theme and I really enjoy that. The paint also goes well as it is not weathered and pretty bright. Both of the statues would be perfect for any Star Wars fan or a fan of the upcoming television show The Mandalorian.

Bounty hunters IG-11 and the Mandalorian are both available for pre-order already. The Mandalorian is priced at $100 and is set for a release on January 2020 his link is here. Ig-11 is priced at $110 and is scheduled for release February 2020 and his pre-order link is here. With the show being revealed next month I wouldn’t be surprised if we see more bounty hunter statues come out from Kotobukiya.

It’s a big world out there, take a blaster.
