BC Toy Spotting: LEGO Spider-Man, Marvel Legends, Star Wars Black Series, Funko, and More!

Welcome to the latest edition of BC Toy Spotting! We are in and out of stores pretty much every day, and we figure (ha!) why not show all of our fellow collectors what we are coming across on pegs and shelves. As collectors, we know that staying on top of what is in stores can be almost a full time job, so we are here to help you with your toy hunts and outings. This week we found the new LEGO Spider-Man sets, new Marvel Legends, Star Wars Black Series figures, tons of new Funko, and more! Let’s take a look.

Starting with Star Wars, target was the place to be this week. For Micro Force collectors, the ship pack made their first apperance on pegs around here this week, and they look pretty cool! I have seen pics of these around, but for some reason we never had them until this week. They also had a cute Porg and Porgettes pack I had not seen before. The main reason I stopped however was to find the latest Black Series wave, and I had some luck. They restocked their Leia exclusive, and I was able to pick up Val and Rio from Solo.

Funko Pops are hitting almost daily now, as they shove out new product before the holidays. At Hot Topic I was able to find the latest Harry Potter wave, the newest version of the 13th Doctor from Doctor Who, more of the Marvel 10th anniversary gold chrome Pops, the Young Gamora from the new Infinity War wave, and they got in the Flashing Gremlin! Gamestop had just as much, with Chilly Willy, all the Harry Potter and such as Hot Topic, and the new Aladdin wave. My local Walgreens also restocked with more Spider-Buggys and Hulk Vs Loki sets.

Gamestop continues to be a collectors paradise, with the new McFarlane Toys squeeze toy Dart from Stranger Things, new Sonic and PlayStation mini-figures, Chia Pet Groot, and tons of other ThinkGeek product. They also got in the latest DC Collectibles Essentials figures, including this awesome Black Manta.

Jumping back to Hot Topic, they have two exclusives showing up in stores: a plush Kid Flash from Young Justice in time to celebrate that show returning, and a Jada Toys Metalfigs Jack Skellington figure.

Marvel Legends found this week: the Target exclusive Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse two-pack of Miles Morales and Spider-Gwen. This pack actaully costs $39.99 not the price in the picture. These may be the only Marvel Legends we get from this film, so grab it while you can. Look for our review this weekend.

Finally, for all of you LEGO collectors, the newest Spider-Man LEGO setsare starting to show up. Target had these on an endcap, and Walmarts are getting a shipper containing all of the sets. These are out a little early, so YMMV as far as getting them to ring out. That Venom set is sweet, and I really like the Spider-Buggy with Green Goblin.

What are YOU finding in stores right now? Let us know in the comments, or on Twitter using the #BC_ToySpotting

Captain Marvel Gets a S.H. Figuarts Release in March

Captain Marvel reveals are coming fast and furious now, as the film hits in March. We already know that we are getting a ridiculous amount of Funko Pops, a wave of Marvel Legends, and other statues and higher end figures have been teased. In that vein, we have some official images of the Captain Marvel S.H. Figuarts figure to take a look at. The figure will release overseas in March, and while there is no word on an official US release as of now, one will be coming.

The figure features effects pieces, multiple sets of interchangeable hands, helmeted and no-helmet head sculpts, and multiple points of articulation. I have to say, I am really in love with the costume design. They did a phenomenal job translating this one from the screen, and it almost looks like fabric on the figure in the light here. The non-helmet head sculpt is ok, Figuarts are never really spot-on likenesses, but they got pretty close. The helmet version looks especially badass,  and on a flight stand with the effects pieces on her fists that could make for a good centerpiece on a display shelf.

Captain Marvel is taking over the collecting world in the next three months, and I hope all of you are ready for it. Hopefully we get details on the US release soon, and when we do, we will be sure to pass it on. She should run you around $55 or so, depending on packaging and if there are anymore effects pieces included.
