While taking a spin on the Star Wars Celebration Chicago floor, we swung into the Galaxy’s Edge experience and took a peak at some of the things that will await park guests when they attend the themed lands in Disneyland and Disney World this year. In short: it was awesome. Concept art was hung everywhere, there were photo ops galore. As the collectibles editor however, one corner of the booth caught my eye- collectibles! Come on- who goes to Disney and DOESN’T buy a ton of stuff. Let’s take a look at some of what they will have to offer in the shops across Black Spire Outpost.
First up: some die-cast vehicles will be available, like in the past. These have new packaging themed to Galaxy’s Edge, so for all you MOC guys and gals, looks like you have to re-buy some of these. The Resistance rank badge set caught my eye as well.
Pins! I am a pin-a-holic, so give me all of these yesterday. Pins, patches, and the like will be a huge part of collecting at Galaxy’s Edge, or so the helpful person standing there told me. Tons of new designs, from both the light and the dark will be available, and will rotate at the same pace as other areas of the parks. Get ready for LOTS of pins all you Pin Traders out there.
Wanna feel like you are still there when you get home? There will be plenty of home goods available as well. Blankets, kitchen supplies, mugs, glasses, hangable signs. There will be plenty to outfit your home as if you never left Black Spire.
Plenty of clothing options will be in the shops you visit as well, including a costume shop where you and the entire family can dress the part and get First Order uniforms, Jedi robes, and more!
Finally, figure box sets for the First Order and Resistance will continue, along with three Hasbro Star Wars Black Series collector sets only available in Galaxy’s Edge. These will include the first Black Series figures for Commander Pyre from Resistance, Hondo Ohnaka, and DJ R3X from Star Tours!
What do you all think? Planning your trip now? Let us know below and keep it locked here all weekend long for Star Wars Celebration news!
