I had a great deal of excitement built up for this particular box from Legion Of Collectors. With the Wonder Woman film coming up in a month, I fully expected this box to be stuffed to the gills full of surprises and products like the Superman box a couple months ago. Did it live up to the hype? Check out the unboxing below and then pics and descriptions of the contents after!
So, like I said, not what I was expecting, but still some cool stuff. Let’s take a closer look shall we?
The patch and the pin are not really all that much to write home about this time. I get what they were going with on both items, but they end up just feeling a little bland. The patch reminds me of the shot from the movie trailer when Diana is coming up the ladder, which is my favorite moment in the trailer. The pin is ok, I like the look of the symbol and really what else could they have done?
Now, I am on record in these unboxings for having my fill of t-shirts, especially since most of them are just black shirts in every box. So I love when they change that up a bit, and the socks are awesome. High quality, and with an awesome stars and symbol design that is very low key, with a cool Diana Pop design across the top. Socks are all the rage these days, and after wearing the Star Wars ones from that box a bunch these are a welcome addition. More please!
One of my favorite new lines from Funko are the Pint-Size lines. I have boatloads of these, and I like that they combine the cuteness of Dorbz with the mystery of the Mystery Minis. The amount of detail they get onto these little figures is crazy, and I love all the different expressions they give them as well. This box includes a film-style Wonder Woman and it is already one of my favorites in my collection.
Lastly we have the Pops. Yes that’s right. there are two Pops in this box. One we knew about, and that would be the Diana Wonder Woman Pop with her lasso at the ready. This pop is arguably the best Wonder Woman offered from the film, I love the look of the lasso and the little curl at the end. The other Pop is of Doctor Maru, and I must confess since I have been purposefully avoiding anything but that one trailer for the film, I had no clue who this was when I first saw it. The sculpt on her head and face is great! The weird facial scarring has me curious, and the look of her helmet and goggles is a huge win. The deep green of the suit and helmet are awesome as well, it makes the figure look a little menacing.
Overall, not mind-blowing, but some solid stuff overall. After the Superman box, this would have had to be perfect to come close to it, but with two Pops, socks, and the Pint-Size Hero, I am happy. Maybe my expectations are too high since we have waited so long for the Wonder Woman film, I wanted them to blow this one out. But that doesn’t make it bad.
So, the next box will be one people will buy in droves as well…
Frankly I am surprised it took them this long to do a Batman: The Animted Series box, but they are now. And you can order one for yourself right here.
