Star Wars fans have much to be excited about this week with the new Black Series and Vintage Collection figures that just went up. NECA is also bring two new Predator Ultimate figures out with the Guardian and Stalker Predators. On top of all that there are new MAFEX figures as well: Spider-Gwen with Spider-Ham and Hush from Batman: Hush. There are also five new figures from Hiya Toys including three Predators, an Alien figure and a Halloween Comic Fest exclusive RoboCop. MOTU fans will be able to read to their hearts content about all their favorite toys with the hardcover book, “The Toys of He-Man and the Masters of the Universe.” For anime fans, Bandai will be making new Sailor Moon S.H.Figuarts figures with animation colors. One of the most coveted gems in the grunge era sold for an unprecedented $6 million at auction. Nirvana frontmanKurt Cobain used the 1959 Martin D-18E guitar during the band's acoustic performance on MTV Unplugged on November 18, 1993. Five months following the episode, the singer-songwriter took his own life from a self-inflicted gunshot at the age of 27. Their Unplugged appearance was released as a live album. The guitar was sold to Australian Peter Freedman, owner of Røde Microphones, at Julien's Auctions in Beverly Hills, California. Cobain played "About A Girl" from their debut album Bleach and "All Apologies" from their final studio album In Utero.

How the Nirvana Frontman's Guitar Compared to Other Auction Items
By comparison, a custom blue guitar used by Prince at the height of his stardom in the 80s and 90s including his 1984 Purple Rain tour sold for $563,500. Cobain's guitar was originally slated to sell in the range of $100,000-$200,000. The band scored 10 top 40 hits on the Billboard Alternative Songs chart, including five No. 1s and four No. 1 albums on the Billboard 200. They also won several Grammys, American Music Awards, and MTV Music Video Awards. Four of Nirvana's songs ("All Apologies", "Come As You Are", "In Bloom", and "Smells Like Teen Spirit") reached Rolling Stone's "The 500 Greatest Songs of All Time." In addition to In Utero and Unplugged, the band's most successful album Nevermindreached the publication's "500 Greatest Albums of All Time." Cobain and bassist Krist Novoselic founded Nirvana in 1987 with Aaron Burckhard on drums. The following year, Burckhard left and the band went through multiple drummers until 1990 when they settled on Dave Grohl. That lineup with guitarist Pat Smear was the one inducted into the Rock N' Roll Hall of Fame in their first year of eligibility in 2014 with Cobain's widow Courtney Love there to accept on her husband's behalf.
Last year we were teased with an upcoming Funko Mystery Box for Free Comic Book Day. With Free Comic Book Day postponed it looks like Funko has unveiled the contents of the boxes. Loki takes center stage with this box and will have three different boxes available. Each box will contain the new Funko mold showcasing modern Loki holding Mjolnir. There will be three mystery boxes each will have a different comic variant and different Pop Tee. Each design is very well done and will be a nice extra for these mystery boxes. The comic book is spaced out with ratios with the virgin Loki cover being 1:4 and the purple variant brings 1:10. Funko has included even more bonuses in these boxes too as collectors can find a 1 of 25 Golden Ticket. Each golden ticket will be redeemable for special Prize Pack that can include Funko protos. On top of that fans will have a chance to win 1 out of 12 signed Pops from Funko CEO Brian Mariotti.
These Funko Mystery Boxes are packed with a nice variety of collectibles. I like how the comics and the shirts are random in each instead of multiple Funko Pops. Each design is perfect for any Loki fan and some might want to buy all three. I'm curious about what some of these prize packs will include and they seem like they will be very exclusive. With the cancellation of Funko Fundays, this seems like a great and fun way to give out prizes in time like this. these boxes will be $34.99 and you can lock down yours at your local comic shop. But it is also a reminder that these things are still happening and should be challenged on a far wider scale.
