BC Toy Spotting: WWE, Funko, DC Multiverse, Captain Marvel, Transformers, and More!

Welcome to the latest edition of BC Toy Spotting! We are in and out of stores pretty much every day, and we figure (ha!) why not show all of our fellow collectors what we are coming across on pegs and shelves. As collectors, we know that staying on top of what is in stores can be almost a full time job, so we are here to help you with your toy hunts and outings. This week we return after a week off to attend New York Toy Fair! We had a blast there, here are our ten favorite things we saw there we can’t wait to find on the pegs! Rest assured, we spent the whole trip there and back hunting for toys, and we found new WWE figures, Funko, Transformers Studio Series, and more! Let’s take a look!

First up: WWE figures are hitting in full force. Basic 91 has popped up, along with multiple sets of Elites. Elite 64 specifically has been showing up at Target, including The Usos, John Cena, Seth Rollins, Curt Hawkins, and the first figure for Pete Dunne, which is exclusive to there. We also found the Walmart exclusive Elite Bob Backlund! We haven’t found them yet, but Targets are also getting NXT Series 4, featuring Aleister Black, Drew McIntyre, Ruby Riott, and Killian Dain.

Funko product for this week include the new 5 Star Kingdom Hearts 3 figures, the full wave of Shazam! Pops, the new Office Space Pops, Aggretsuko, the Vince Gilligan Pop, and even more new Star Wars Pops. The 13th Doctor Pop Pez is also in stores now.

Can we just take a minute to appreciate that Crossfire is back on store shelves. This was one of my favorite games when I was a kid, and I am super pumped to buy this and play it with my daughter.

The repaint of the Bite ‘N Fight Jurassic World  T-Rex is showing up at Targets.

NECA has their video game versions of horror icons Freddy Krueger and Jason Voorhees back exclusively at Gamestops. Look for a review of the Jason on BC in the next couple days.

The newest deluxe Transformers Studio Series figures are on the shelf, with Megatron from Dark of the Moon and Jetfire from Revenge of the Fallen hitting stores now. Love that Megatron.

Speaking of NECA, those that still want a shot at their 1990 TMNT figures should hit up their local Gamestop pronto. These are hitting in full force.

New DC Multiverse figures from Mattel are hitting stores all over, including the Shazam! figures and the Collect and Connect Lex Luger wave.

Finally, ahead of schedule the newest wave of Star Wars Black Series figures have been showing up at Target. We found half the wave multiple times, including Padme, Holdo, Dryden Vos. We are still on the hunt for Mace Windu, the Han Solo Mudtrooper, and especially the Battle Droid.

What are YOU finding in stores right now? Let us know in the comments, or on Twitter using the #BC_ToySpotting

Bleeding Cool’s Ten Favorite Things We Saw at New York Toy Fair 2019

New York Toy Fair has come and gone, and this years event felt even bigger than ever. Tons of companies had their biggest booths ever, had more product than ever before, and are creating some of the best figures and statues that collectors have ever seen. I saw so much awesome stuff, and as hard as it was to do, I narrowed it down to the ten best things I saw at Toy Fair. Let’s get to it!

Toy Fair McFarlane Toys Cuphead Construction Sets

McFarlane Toys Cuphead Construction Sets

McFarlane Toys have done an excellent job with their line of construction sets, and joining the line this summer will be sets based on the popular video game Cuphead. Multiple sets will be available, as will blind box figures as well. It will all be in boxes featuring artwork created specifically for these sets. These feel like a home run, and I can’t wait to get my hands on them.

Toy Fair LEGO Flintstones Box

LEGO Ideas The Flintstones House

Speaking of construction sets, LEGO had the final product for their LEGO Ideas Flintstones house on display at Toy Fair, and it may now be my most anticipated LEGO set of all-time. Everything about it is perfect, they really did their homework and included numerous winks and nods to fans. This is actually available now if you are a LEGO VIP, and will be online and in stores on March 1st.

Toy Fair Mattel Collassal Blue Jurassic World Figure

Mattel Jurassic World Colossal Blue Figure

I love me some big dinosaurs. Their Colossal T-rex figure was one of my favorite releases last year, and this Colossal Blue figure looks just as detailed and cool. She is almost as long as the T-Rex, and feels very easy to pose in multiple positions and poses. This is the perfect raptor figure to own if you ever wanted to own a dinosaur but don’t want to put your family at risk.

Toy Fair Marvel Legends Hulk

Hasbro Marvel Legends 80th Anniversary Hulk

There were SO MANY Marvel Legends figures revealed by Hasbro this year, with MCU figures and comic figures both plentiful. Mnay new characters that have never gotten figures before, and some badly needed updates are coming to shelves, but I was most impressed with their classic-style 80th anniversary Hulk figure. This one will come in a two pack with a first appearance Wolverine, and boy I cannot wait. This looks like the definitive take on the Hulk.

Toy Fair Power Rangers Lightning Collection White Ranger

Hasbro Power Rangers Lightning Collection White Ranger Figure

Hasbro is coming out swinging as the new owners of the Power Rangers brand, and their new Lightning Collection figures all looked awesome. I am not as familiar with some of the later series of the show, but everyone knows who the White Ranger is. These are the figures that will serve as an entry point to what I have missed since Mighty Morphin years ended.

Toy Fair DST Darkseid Gallery Statue

Diamond Select Toys Darkseid Gallery Statue

Diamond Select Toys had so many Gallery statues on display it was hard to choose just one, but this Darkseid is a perfect representation of what they do with this line. Great sculpts with weight to them, at a very ffordable price. This one will even come with a swappable head with the Omega Beams beginning to shoot out of his eyes. At $75 for something of this height and weight, and of this quality, it cannot be beat.

Toy Fair Halloween 3 NECA Figures

NECA Halloween 3 Trick or Treaters Three Pack

NECA had so many great things to choose from, and I was sure I was going to pick one of their new versions of Michael Myers, or the first ever Laurie Strode figure. Then I looked down in the case and found these. Halloween 3 gets almost no love from fans, and its is so much fun to watch. Getting figures wearing the three masks from the film are a dream come true. Please let this come sooner than later. I need it now.

Toy Fair Funko Ghostbusters Movie Moment

Funko Ghostbusters Movie Moment

This is my new favorite Funko Pop of all-time. Perfectly capturing the iconic moment when the Ghostbusters capture their friend/rival from the first film, I cannot think of another Pop that looks like the property it is representing come to life in Pop form. Perfection. All of the Funko Ghostbusters items revealed are great, and it just means they will continue to get all of my money.

Toy Fair Transformers Ectotron Figure

Hasbro Transformers/Ghostbusters 35th Anniversary Ectotron Frigure

Speaking of Ghostbusters, they really took over this show. I feel like almost every booth had something with the Ghostbusters involved. Revealed the day before the show, this special edition Transformers figure features the Ecto-1 turning into the autobot Ectotron. It is being released as a celebration of the 35th anniversary of both properties. There is even going to be a comic mini-series from IDW this summer giving the bot a backstory. I cannot wait for any of it. It sold out on preorder on Hasbro Pulse, but can still be ordered at Gamestop.

Toy Fair Masters of the Universe Movie Classic Figures Super7

Super7 Masters of The Universe Classics Movie Figures

The figures I never knew I wanted Super7 to tackle until I turned the corner at their booth and saw them in the glass. Just look at how perfect that Armored Skeletor figure looks. Say what you will about the film, and many people have, but these four figures that make up this wave are incredible looking. Super7 is my favorite toy company, this was the first booth I went to, and I returned to it multiple times, mostly just to see these again. I cannot wait for these.

What did YOU see at New York Toy Fair that you liked? Agree with my pics? Let us know below!

New York Toy Fair: Visiting The Pokemon Company to Talk TCG and Detective Pikachu

Visting The Pokemon Company was one of the more fun experiences of New York Toy Fair this year. And with good reason, as excitement for the upcoming Detective Pikachu film hits a fever pitch. The team over there certainly is feeling the love, as out visit to check out the booth was awesome from beginning to end. When it comes to collectibles for fans both old and new, this is the place to check out.

First, the current series of the Pokemon TCG is focused on Sun and Moon, and they are pushing a new gameplay mode called Team-Up, using cards that pair Pokemon together on the same card for extra power when playing the card. Booster packs, starter sets, collectible tins, and a special Melmetal Box guaranteeing that card inside are available. Also for just $15 you can get cards housed in a Pokeball and walk into tournaments like a boss.

Looking at some of the clothing and such that will be available from Detective Pikachu, shirts barring the logos for the Hi-Hat Cafe and Ryme City and such will be available, along with an adorable Jigglypuff “Berry Juice” shirt. It is a low key and casual way for fans to support the brand and film out and about. There will also be pins and decals and even police badges!

TCG players will also be able to collect 24 different Pokemon cards featuring all the major Pokemon that make an appearance in the film. Psyduck, Mr. Mime, and Jigglypuff were revealed just today, and more will be revealed closer to the film’s debut. These will be available in special TCG packs and bundles.

They are partnering with Wicked Cool Toys to create figures and more for the film, including a talking Pikachu that will feature the voice of Ryan Reynolds from the film. There will be a couple different scales of figures available on cardbacks, including these little adorable guys like Pikachu, Mr. Mime, and my personal fav, Bulbasaur.

Finally, the first vinyl figure in their Day With Pikachu figures made in partnership with Funko was on display. “One Lucky Day” focuses on St. Patricks Day, and when ordered off The Pokemon Company website (where these are exclusive to), each will feature a teaser for the next months figure. This is available now.

One could not help but leave the booth with a smile on their face. Pokemon never went away, but between Pokemon GO, new games, and Detective Pikachu, Pokemon certainly seems to be becoming a juggernaut all over again.
