Rocket Rescues Baby Groot In New Marvel/Funko Animated Short

Hot on the heels of the first Marvel/Funko animated short comes a new entry titled “Bait N Switch.”

This new ninety-second animated romp teams up the Funko-ized versions of Baby Groot and Rocket Raccoon as they fight the intergalactic hoarder known as the Collector. Like the previous Funko/Marvel short before it, this one’s also a totally silent affair — save for some grunts from Collector and chuckles from Rocket.

Funko’s announced plenty of new Pops recently, including new entries in their “Beauty and the Beast” line and adorable figures tied to the decidedly mature “Logan” feature film. Marvel’s Jessica Jones is also getting a Funko Pop! based on her Netflix series, and another Netflix show — “Stranger Things” — is also joining in on the fun. And as if that isn’t enough, there’s even a full line of X-Men figures and Power Rangers figures on the way, too.

You clicked on the article featuring 7 boring and useless screencaps from the trailer, and complained about it in the comments and on social media! It's Morphin' Time With Funko's New Line Of 'Power Rangers' Collectibles

While we here at ComicsAlliance are well aware the Power Rangers never stopped being cool, next year is when everyone else will realize the very same following the release of the upcoming big-screen adaptation of everyone's favorite teenagers with attitude. With nostalgia for the Rangers set to reach an all-time high, Funko is going all in on the classic Mighty Morphin' Power Rangers series with several new lines dedicated to the show.

Funko Launches Morphenomenal Line Of Power Rangers Figures

Not only is a new Power Rangers movie on the way, but now the original “Mighty Morphin’ Power Rangers” TV series is being immortalized in a new line of toys and collectible figures from Funko. The Rangers and their villains will get figures in the company’s Pop! Vinyls, Dorbz, Pint Size Heroes and Pen Toppers lines.

The Funko Pop! Vinyl line will include the Red, White and Pink Rangers as well as Metallic variants of the Red and Pink Rangers available at Hot Topic. The Alpha 5 Funko Pop! will be exclusive to Walmart.

The Rangers will get Dorbz figures, including metallic variants and a glow-in-the-dark Pink Ranger that will be available exclusively at Walmart. The Rita Repulsa Dorbz figure will be available at Toys R Us.

As if that’s not enough Power Rangers awesomeness, the new Pint Size Heroes line will include 24 characters, including the Rangers and villains like Rita Repulsa and Goldar. And don’t forget the Pen Toppers line, too!

The Pop! Vinyls will arrive in stores in December; the other Funko lines will arrive in January.

Directed by Dean Israelite and starring Dacre Montgomery as the Red Ranger, Naomi Scott as the Pink Ranger, Ludi Lin as the Black Ranger, R.J. Cyler as the Blue Ranger and Becky Gomez as the Yellow Ranger, “Power Rangers” hits theaters on March 24, 2017.

Funko Pop In December’s Loot Crate, Revealed (SPOILER)

December’s core Loot Crate promises an exclusive Funko Pop figure. There was an alleged falling out between the two companies over a year ago, which saw the exclusive Funko Pop Vinyl figures that so defined the Loot Crate’s earliest offerings, find other homes.

 

Instead, Loot Crate turned to the Q-Fig figures which, though fun – especially last month’s Doctor Strange – have less big-headed appeal.

In the internim, Marvel Collectors Corps has signed up an exclusivity for Marvel based figures – and have been making short films to match. While DC Comics has similar with the Legion of Collectors box.

But in the upcoming Loot Crate box for December, with a Revolution theme, we are getting an exclusive Loot Crate figure of one of these properties.

 And Bleeding Cool knows which. Courtesy of an employee of Ubisoft who posted this accidentally, the pop will be an Assassin’s Creed figure…
