Regina, Zelena, Belle & Hook! Once Upon A New Set Of POP! Vinyls

With the new season fast approaching Funko has announced a new set of Once Upon a Time POP! Vinyls. This is the second series that the TV show will have out, but these are way cooler than the others! Funko has been steadily increasing the design quality of their POP!s since day one, and now they are giving more incentive to buy some of the same characters that you might already own because of an outfit change or item addition. This new set of Once Upon a Time POP!s are a great example. Take a look:

Now, just to be clear, Regina and Hook have already had POP!s released, but Belle and Zelena are new to the group. I own both Regina and Hook, but I’m going to need to get these new versions because they are just awesome! The additions of fireballs and excalibur make for such unique Once Upon a Time collectibles. The series is set to release in October, and with one month left until the premiere of the new season I’d say we have an exciting Fall to look forward to. Once Upon a Time season six premieres Sunday, September 25th at 8pm on ABC.

Funko Announces A New Kind Of Hero…Pint Size!

Funko is at it again! Today the dynamite collectible company announced their new line entitled, “Pint Size Heroes.” They’re one part POP! Vinyl and one part Dorbz shrunk down to a 1.5″ size.

In true Funko fashion, they’re not only giving us one series to pine over but three, which will release over the next few months. The beginning series will be Batman Pint Size Heroes, followed by Spider-Man, and Steven Universe collections.

Here’s a bit of a description from Funko:

“Everyone is going to be hooked on opening up Pint Size Heroes to find their favorite character…and all at a new low price!

…be sure to check out GameStop and Hot Topic for special exclusive characters!”

The Batman Pint Size Heroes will release in September.

The Spider-man and Steven Universe series will release in October.

I’ll be curious to find out how low price they mean. That will surely determine how many I buy! Knowing that their POP!s usually stay in the $10 range, it should be a pretty sweet deal. For more information head on over to Funko’s Blog.

“That’s No Moon…” Smuggler’s Bounty Death Star Box Teaser Trailer

What’s better than some Obi-Wan and Han Solo narration? Nothing. Funko’s next Smuggler’s Bounty box theme is the Death Star. With that came a teaser trailer…

Honestly, if you like Star Wars, you should subscribe to this box. They just keep getting better and better. You can read my thoughts on the last box here. My hope is that whatever is included Darth Vader wise, is epic! I’m actually hoping for a special POP! Vinyl. I’m sure we will get something Storm Trooper oriented too. What do you think? “This Is Halloween!” Funko Announces Upcoming Nightmare Before Christmas ReAction Figures

The end of the Summer is going to bring us some fun figures from Funko! Their ReAction line of collectibles is expanding with The Nightmare Before Christmas. The movie by Tim Burton, which has a loyal following, also has a massive line of collectibles through every company you can think of. Especially around Halloween/Christmas. You’ll see Jack Skellington’s face popping up everywhere.

 

 

However, there is something special about Funko products. I like these ReAction figures. Unlike other Funko products, they stay true to the original character designs that we know and love. I’m definitely in the market for both Jack figures and the glow in the dark Oogie Boogie. Keep your eyes peeled for the Nightmare Before Christmas ReAction figures release next month!

Jabba’s Palace: The Best Smuggler’s Bounty Box To Date

If you keep up with my reviews of Funko subscription boxes, you’ll know that I’m an advocate for them. They are consistent with getting the most bang for your buck, and most of the exclusives are pretty cool. However, this month, I find myself reaching new levels of satisfaction as I believe that the Jabba’s Palace, Smuggler’s Bounty box is the best yet!

[WARNING: SPOILERS FOR SMUGGLERS BOUNTY JABBAS PALACE BOX BELOW!]

I started off excited enough. This box felt bigger than the others. Jabba size…

Pins are cool too, but I was ready to get to the good stuff…

 

Cute enough…but what else?

That’s about where my eyes started to widen with amazement. Good old C-3PO! Now, you might remember my disappointment with the C-3PO mug that was included in an earlier box. It looked too much like a LEGO and not enough like C-3PO. However, the mug in this box did not disappoint one bit.

 

I’ve saved the best for last. Well, it’s the best in my eyes, because not only do I love this character, but the detail in this POP! Vinyl is one of the most impressive I’ve ever seen. It’s called: R2-D2 Jabba’s Skiff.

 

What a fantastic collectible. Needless to say it’s now proudly displayed on my work desk with the Jabba mug sitting close by. If you like Star Wars, you need to subscribe to this box. It’s a really fun surprise at your doorstep. Next months box theme covers my favorite Star Wars character Darth Vader. Hopefully it will be just as good as this one was.

One of the most successful MOBA’s of all time is getting a line of Funko POP! Vinyl’s and everyone is pretty excited about it. I’d say League of Legends is the first thing since the invention of World of Warcraft that I’ve lost friends to. Funko Recreates Return Of The Jedi Scene For The Next Smuggler’s Bounty Box

Yes, I’m a huge fan of Funko subscription boxes, and I’m a huge fan of Star Wars. So it’s no surprise that I subscribe to Smuggler’s Bounty. As my anticipation builds for the next box, I can’t help but wonder what will be inside.

So far we know that the theme is “Jabba’s Palace,” and Funko released this POP! video to go along with promotions…

I just want something Jabba related and something Han Solo related. Whatever else comes besides that will be an added bonus. Though, one of the t-shirts not too long ago featured Han, and I doubt they’d do another. Of course, something Slave Leia would also be fitting…

The countdown is on! There are sixteen days left to get your order in if you want to get one for yourself. It’s $25, and I swear to you, you get your money’s worth.

Three Game Of Thrones Collectibles To Buy And Stare At Until Next Season

What’s worse than a Game of Thrones season coming to an end? Facing the next eight plus months missing it every Sunday night. The HBO series wrapped up its sixth season last night and ended on such an epic note.

[WARNING: SPOILERS FOR GAME OF THRONES SEASON SIX BELOW!!!]

One: Starting on a small scale, you might want to stare at this Funko POP! ride on that features Daenerys and Drogon. Her status reached a whole new level of fantastic this season. I love how much the dragons can really play a part now.

 

Two: Jon Snow! Well, he managed to come back from the dead and he was really productive after that. He’s taken the north back and gained a new title. We’re all pretty happy for him I think. He deserves it.

Three: Perhaps you should just grab this nice throne room playset… but you’ll need to swap out a few different figures to get it just right.

Can anyone else still hear that piano song from the beginning of the episode? Beautiful and memorable.

If you haven’t watched this season of Game of Thrones yet, get on it. It’s the best season yet.

It Wasn’t A Spider-Gwen POP!: Review Of Marvel Collector Corps Women Of Power

After the teaser trailer I was pretty convinced that Funko was going to give us a Spider Gwen POP! Vinyl with our Marvel Collector Corps Women of Power box. What we got…was a bit different.

[FULL SPOILERS FOR MARVEL COLLECTOR CORPS WOMEN OF POWER!]

Surprise! It’s Squirrel Girl from The Unbeatable Squirrel Girl. I think this was a less predictable, more unique move on Funko’s part. Besides, we got a Spider-Gwen t-shirt instead.

I don’t know about you guys, but the pin and patch collection I’m developing is quite large thanks to the Funko subscription boxes, but I’m not quite sure what to do with them. I display all of the POP’s and Mystery Minis, and at least I can wear the t-shirt.

The comic featured in this months box is Civil War II, with a cute POP style variant. The cover was designed by Funko’s own Sean Wilkinson. Overall, I’m still satisfied with the contents. I still standby  my viewpoint that Funko gives you a way better bang for your buck compared to other companies like Loot Crate. Don’t believe me? Funko POP!s That Smell Like Strawberries? Okay.

You know who I’m talking about…Strawberry Shortcake of course. Who could forget the signature character that was accompanied by the smell of fresh berries? You must have at least had the stickers at some point or new someone else who did. Well, now Funko is making their POP! Vinyl’s scented…at least in this case. (I wonder what scent Batman would be?)

Here’s what Funko has to say:

Is anyone else getting hungry? I honestly didn’t know there were other characters associated with her. However, they are creative. I find the character designs to be super adorable and I always like when they include an extra mini POP in there with the figure. It’s such a great deal. The Strawberry Shortcake series is releasing in September. I’m sure these babies will be on display at San Diego Comic Con as well.
