Karen Gillan Confirms Avengers: Infinity War Role

Though her screen time was short, her role was important in the first “Guardians of the Galaxy” film, and Karen Gillan’s Nebula will certainly be featured more as the Marvel movies go further. In fact, her role as Gamora’s adopted sister will continue on past the “Guardians” franchise and into “Avengers: Infinity War.”

In a recent interview with BBC News to promote her directorial debut “Tupperware Party” Villain spoke very briefly about her role as Nebula in the “Guardians” franchise, and reminded fans that they can look forward to the sequel to the before dropping this tiny tease: “And then I’ll be making a little appearance in the next Avengers movies.”

Yep, that’s it, unfortunately. While it’s not truly groundbreaking news, it’s still nice to have some kind of confirmation on just who might be in “Avengers: Infinity War”. As we know, the movie will supposedly feature nearly the entire cast of Marvel’s Cinematic Universe, so getting to narrow it down – even by one – is very much appreciated.

Of course, it does make sense for Gillan’s Nebula to appear in the “Avengers” film, as she is the adopted daughter of Thanos in the MCU. Her character also plays an incredibly major role in the original “Infinity Gauntlet” comic; in that series, Thanos assembled the six Infinity Gems, builds the Gauntlet, and then proceeded to rule the universe. Nebula is one of his earliest victims, in fact, falling in dramatic fashion to the power of the Gauntlet.

Opening May 5, 2017, “Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2” is directed by James Gunn and stars Chris Pratt, Zoe Saldana, Dave Bautista, Vin Diesel, Bradley Cooper, Michael Rooker, Karen Gillan, Glenn Close, Pom Klementieff, Elizabeth Debicki and Kurt Russell. Opening May 4, 2018, “Avengers: Infinity War” features a sprawling ensemble cast that’s so far confirmed to include Robert Downey Jr., Mark Ruffalo, Chris Pratt, Jeremy Renner, Benedict Cumberbatch and Brie Larson, among others.

Stranger Things Promises a Bigger, Darker Season Two

Fans are eagerly anticipating the second season of Netflix’s summer hit “Stranger Things,” which some of the stars and producers of the sci-fi drama tease will be much bigger and, yes, much darker.

Speaking with journalists at the the annual BAFTA Awards Season Tea Party, executive producer Shawn Levy said the stakes will be raised in Season Two, set for release later this year.

“The threat, which in Season One was to Will Byers, has grown. That’s all I’m going to say!” he teased. “But, I will say Season Two has a bigger cast and is definitely loyal to the kind of magical storytelling that we established in the first season. It’s character-based and still about our core group of characters.”

Most of the Season One cast, including Winona Ryder and Millie Bobby Brown, will return, joined by the likes of Sean Astin (“The Lord of the Rings”) and Paul Reiser (“Mad About You”). According to Noah Schnapp, who plays Will Byers, we’ll see much more of his character in Season Two. “In the last episode, I threw up a slug, so Season Two begins with what happens from there,” he said. “There may have been some effect on him. I may or may not have turned into a monster. You’ll have to watch to find out.”

Finn Wolfhard, who plays Mike Wheeler, teased the second season might expand on the group of youngsters in terms of character growth. “Now that we’ve done a season, we know exactly about our characters. We are very conscious of them and can take them to the next level,” he said. “I think we’ve grown up a little bit, and our characters have too. They have been through a lot and have used those experiences to help them grow and to be stronger in Season Two.”

Filming of “Stranger Things” Season Two is already under way in Atlanta.
