On the “Zero” Day of “Mr. Robot,” USA Network Gave to Me… A Chance to Win a Mask from FSociety! [PREVIEW]

Today is the day! The sun is shining, the computers are clean, society is economically collapsing…wait, what? That’s right, fans of USA Network’s hacker drama Mr. Robot. It comes back TONIGHT… but right now? We have one last present from our countdown tree.

Before we get to our final “gift”, we have a quick recap of what all we’ve gotten so far from Mr. Robot’s “Tree of Commercialism” – in festive rhyme, of course!

mr. robot
USA Network

Start with Day “Eleven” and you’ll get “Silver Bells”.

Day “Ten”  shows Zhang and Mr. Price, who sounds like he’s in Hell.

Day “Nine” gives us cast photos, posters if you like.

Day “Eight” saw Dom interrogated, try as they might.

Day “Seven” was a holiday card, from F-Society.

Day “Six” presents trinkets, Funko POP! figures we all need.

Day “Five” is a sweater to keep you toasty while you’re hacking.

Day “Four” peeks behind the scenes, perspective we’ve been lacking.

Day “Three” delivers throwbacks, in Christmas sitcom form…

(…a happy family together, something Elliot mourns)

Day “Two” has more interviews and a look at the season.

Day “One” has Angela Moss, loyal to Whiterose… but for what reason?

“Zero” hour, we’re almost there – win the FSociety mask and it’s yours to wear.

mr. robot
USA Network

That’s right – today is the last day of the countdown and the day of the premiere of Mr. Robot’s fourth and final season.

Today’s final gift is a gif of the FSociety mask and a chance to win one autographed by the cast. So there’s that.

I don’t mean to be a grumpy fan here, but it just seems like the hype has topped out, for me at least. I have been so excited for this, and I almost feel fatigued with all the promo content and trailers and sneak previews – how much is enough, USA Network?

I’m not saying I don’t want any, and the advent countdown is for sure a cute and very on brand idea, but it’s just a lot. I mean, we get radio silence for years between seasons – even once the season is in production, we get basically nothing official. And then? A month before the season drops, we start getting flooded with content.

You already had us on board, USA. We’re loyal, and we can only get so hype. Trust us, we’re hyped enough.

On the Final Days of “Mr. Robot”, USA Network Gave to Me… A Little Too Much Now [OPINION]

That’s right, friends! We’re in the home stretch now. The fourth and final season of USA Network’s Mr. Robot premieres tomorrow, but we have the final two days for you today!

It feels like Christmas! …oh wait. It is Christmas – at least in Mr. Robot land.

mr. robot
USA Network

Before we get to our final two “gifts”, we have a quick recap of what all we’ve gotten so far from Mr. Robot’s tree of commercialism, in festive rhyme, of course.

Start with Day “Eleven” and you’ll get “Silver Bells”.

Day “Ten”  shows Zhang and Mr. Price, who sounds like he’s in Hell.

(…a happy family together, something Elliot mourns)

Day “Two” has more interviews and a look at the season.

Day “One” has Angela Moss, loyal to Whiterose… but for what reason?

Yes, Day “Two” was very reminiscent of Day “Four” – we got another behind the scenes interview/ look ahead video. This “special features DVD extra” is titled “This is How it Ends”.

While Day “One” brought us a clip of a conversation between Angela and Phillip Price where she is winding him up and trying to convince him that Whiterose’s plan should be trusted.

Uh-oh, somebody is still drinking deep from the Dark Army kool-aid. Spoiler: it’s Angela.

She really sounds like that one family member who joined some crazy cult like Scientology and is now trying desperately to convince other people [and themself] that it’s the greatest thing since sliced bread.

Not convinced it is? Maybe because the Dark Army is still totally a terrorist organization. Oh, Angela. Sweet Angela, how did you get reality so twisted around in your mind?

Oh, right. Probably because Elliot and Darlene and your terrible ex-boyfriend dragged you into this hot hacking mess of an underground world. Oops.

Can this be how the countdown event ends? I am rushing the gates for this premiere – the content was nice, but now it just feels like we’ve been inundated with so much that I can’t take it anymore.

Another behind the scenes? Great, add it to the pile. More pictures? Awesome, didn’t know what to do with the first dozen, I’m sure another will be the key to their usefulness. Oh, you have the entire cast show up at my door with a Christmas feast? Rad. I didn’t clean the apartment, but I guess they can sit on my living room floor.

I don’t mean to be a grumpy fan here, but it just seems like the hype has topped out, for me at least. I have been so excited for this, and I almost feel fatigued with all the promo content and trailers and sneak previews – how much is enough, USA Network?

You already had us on board, USA. We’re loyal, and we can only get so hype. Trust us, we’re hyped enough.

…But if you do have any more fun trailers or clips, we’ll take those in the next couple days.

On the 3rd Day of “Mr. Robot,” USA Network Gave to Me… A Classic Sitcom Family! [PREVIEW]

Oh, it’s you. Hello again. Welcome to our countdown – no, not that countdown. We’re talking  the one where we open a present under “The Tree of Materialism” every day until the Mr. Robot season 4 premiere on USA Network!

Okay, so maybe everyone hasn’t been following every single day as closely as they should. That’s okay, because I’m here to help get you get caught up. Here’s what we’ve unwrapped so far.

mr. robot

Day “Four” peeks behind the scenes, perspective we’ve been lacking.

Day “Three” delivers throwbacks, in Christmas sitcom form…

(…a happy family together, something Elliot mourns)

Mr. Robot countdown - three Christmas Specials

That’s right – today’s countdown gift is a Christmas poster a’la the sitcom episode from last season.

…or is this a poster for their family sitcom’s Christmas special episode?

Either way, it’s pretty rad – peep the Photoshop Santa hat! It totally makes it.

Does this mean we get another surreal, slightly absurdist look at Elliot’s life and backstory through the lens of a classic 80s/90s family sitcom? …You don’t remember that episode? It featured ALF!

Okay, so Elliot’s brain was in a very bad place after getting knocked around a bit by some thugs (no spoilers here as to who or why), and his subconscious reacts by retreating in on itself as the brain trauma sets in.

This makes for one very wacky episode of Mr. Robot; Elliot, Darlene, and their parents are on a road trip – with special guest star, the man in the trunk! Who could that rascal thumping around back there be?

The sitcom parody episode was a fan favorite – I really hope the final season delivers at least a festive nod to the genre again!

Mr. Robot returns October 6 to USA Network.

On the 4th Day of “Mr. Robot,” USA Network Gave to Me… A Look Behind the Scenes! [PREVIEW]

Merry Robot-mas, friends! In case you weren’t aware, USA Network has so graciously gifted us with yet another advent treat leading up to the premiere of Mr. Robot October 6.

What’s that? You haven’t been keeping up? Okay!

mr. robot

That’s right, friends! Today’s treat is a three and a half minute behind-the-scenes look at the show and its trajectory from the time it started to when the cast read the final script for the first time.

We start with an interview with creator Sam Esmail, but then we go on to hear inside perspectives from nearly every member of our main cast.

Yes, including Rami Malek (who we all know you have a crush on). We also hear from Christian Slater, Carly Chaikin, Portia Doubleday, Grace Gummer, Michael Cristofer, Martin Wallstrom, and BD Wong.

This reminds me a lot of the behind the scenes content you would find on a DVD circa mid-late 2000s and I love it. I know it’s not everybody’s jam, but as someone who was (and frankly, still is) obsessed with the mechanics behind the media, this is basically like heaven…hacker heaven?

Back on track, the cast talks about their favorite episodes and scenes to shoot, how the show has impacted them, and how it’s felt being a part of a show that became so big and such a comment on current political affairs so quickly.

I can’t wait until Sunday when we finally get the season premiere!

On the 5th Day of “Mr. Robot,” USA Network Gave to Me… 5 Creepy Christmas Sweaters! [PREVIEW]

Happy Holidays, friends! Er, well I suppose it’s just one holiday, and that one is the Mr. Robot season 4 premiere on October 6… which so happens to be one week from today.

What better way to celebrate than with an advent calander? Well, we can think of a few ways, but luckily USA Network picked up on that and granted our wishes! (Most of them, at least. I’m still waiting for Rami Malek to pop out of a cake and announce a prequel series, but I may be waiting awhile for that one to come true.)

Before I get too off track, let me explain what’s going on. Mr. Robot has set up a website featuring a “Tree of Materalisim” that grants us a new virtual present each day leading up to the premiere of their fourth and final season.

Oh, this countdown is news to you? Well, you’re familiar with an advent calendar, right? The thing with one treat every day up until Christmas? This is pretty much the exact same thing – except for Mr. Robot. Granted, there’s also a distinct lack of chocolates… but that’s neither here nor there.

mr. robot
USA Network

Yes, it’s just an image of a sweater print – but I give it one hour until it’s up on the internet, being sold as a real sweater / sweatshirt. For bonus points, I give it a day until “Cease and Desist” orders get slapped on those sellers – and by the end of the week, USA will likely have this up as official merch.

So here’s where we are…

Start with Day “Eleven” and you’ll get “Silver Bells”.

Day “Ten”  shows Zhang and Mr. Price, who sounds like he’s in Hell.

Day “Nine” was a series of cast photos, posters if you like.

Day “Eight” saw Dom interrogated, try as they might.

Day “Seven” was a holiday card, from F-Society.

Day “Six” presents trinkets, Funko POP! figures we all need.

Day “Five” delivers a festive sweater; will you use it to brave the weather?

It is a pretty dope design, but that’s really not the best part about today’s countdown.

USA gave us a sneak unlisted trailer, so only those in the know and with the link get to see (as least while we were writing this). Wanna see?

We get some new images, a “give ’em hell” attitude from Elliot (who’s ready to finish this and take “them” down), and of course, the lingering question, “are you ready to finish this?”

Yes, Elliot, we are so ready. Is it Sunday yet?

So what will tomorrow bring, all wrapped up with a big, shiny bow?

Keep checking here – otherwise you might not know!

Mr. Robot returns on October 6 and not a day before,

Be sure to catch Elliot and friends with antics for sure.

They have been releasing trailers and clips outside of the countdown website, so I wonder if we’ll get a new clip today… USA Network, please?
