Will you be at San Diego Comic Con this weekend? If so, come spend an hour with us Saturday night! After a full day of walking the convention floor you are going to want to rest your feet before heading back to your hotel or next event! Why not take a break from the hustle and bustle of the con and treat yourself to a fascinating conversation with some amazing folks in the toy and collectibles industry? We have a GREAT line-up of esteemed panelists this year and a topic that I can wait to dive into! One hour won’t be enough to contain this conversation! You won’t want to miss this.
The Panel: “Behind the Plastic: Licensees, Licensors, and Buyers: How Your Favorite Action Figures and Collectibles Are Made”
This year we look behind the curtain and see how collectibles get made by talking with the license owners of your favorite properties, the toy makers themselves, and the retail buyers that decide what you see on the shelf. We explore the relationship between the licensor, licensee and buyer so you can see how toys get made and into your collections. And as always, we’ll get some great anecdotes from the people on the inside. Come ask any burning questions you’ve ever had about the collectible business and be a fly on the wall as some of the top names in the industry sit down together, as they only do once a year at this event and talk toys.
The Panelists:
- Daniel Pickett (ActionFigureInsider.com)
- Dolly Ahluwalia (VP, Licensing & BD, Funko)
- Steven Anne (Category Manager – Toys, Walgreens)
- Jason Labowitz (President, Entertainment Earth)
- Jimmy Liu (Manager, Marketing, #HotWheels, Mattel)
- George Vorkas (SVP, Jazwares)
- James Zahn (Senior Editor, The Toy Book / Pop Insider)
- Jeremy Padawer (Co-President, Wicked Cool Toys)
