Funko Pop Sports Get New College Mascots and NBA Players

This set of releases as for our big sports fans out there. We are getting a nice set of college mascot Funko Pop‘s as well as a nice set of NBA Pops. The first stop we will be getting up four new college football mascot Pop characters. The home team is up first for all you Ohio fans out there as the Buckeyes famous mascot Brutus gets Popified. Next, Wisconsin makes their debut, so you can show your love for Bucky badger. The University of Georgia’s mascot the Hairy Dog will also be making his appearance so you can show your black and red pride. Last but not least Notre Dame shows their gold and blue colors with their Leprechaun mascot. Now switching sports will be looking at the NBA. Making his 10″ debut is basketball a legend and icon Michael Jordan. He will be getting two 10 inch Funko Pop Sports figures. The first up he’ll be getting his red away jersey, and he will be getting his white NBA Chicago Bulls home jersey but this one will be exclusive to Footlocker. I do think it is weird when non-toy stores to get exclusive’s as they make them almost impossible to find, or in perfect condition. Last but not least four basketball players will be getting their Funko Pop Sports debuts. Stepping onto the court is Victor Oladipo from the Indiana Pacers. Up next, the Detroit Pistons put their star player Blake Griffin up for Funko Pop Sports pop-ification. Luka Doncic and Kristaps Porzingis from the Dallas Mavericks are the last two from the reveal.

I love how Funko is so accommodating for all collectors out there and sports cans can now start looking forward to these upcoming Funko Pop Sports legends. You can find them available for pre-order here.

Historical Funko Pop Artists, Presidents and Icons Are Coming Soon

This set of October releases are all based on actual real historical people which is a new concept for Funko. Pop History/Icons and Artists are one of the most recent categories that Funko has released. A lot of these historical icons have hit Target as exclusives like Abraham Lincoln and we have even seen George Washington crossing the Delaware River as a historical Funko Pop Moment. This time we are getting three new presidents and a first lady. First, we are beginning John F. Kennedy and his wife Jackie Kennedy. Following them will be Jimmy Carter and last but not least Ronald Reagan. As weird as it sounds I honestly hope they make one Historical Funko Pops and one of each of the presidents as that would be historically kick-ass collection to have. Next up will be getting Supreme Court Judge and famous “Notorious RBG” Ruth Bader Ginsberg. This one is kind of surprising as I’m not sure how many Supreme Court judge fans are out there but it’s interesting that there are even stepping out of their comfort zone. Finally, on the Historical Funko least we will be getting two new artist Funko Pops. First up is Renaissance artist Leonardo Da Vinci who needs no introduction as well as dutch Post-impressionist Vincent Van Gogh, (cut off ear sold separately). I’m sure these won’t be the last two artists Funko Pops to come out of the series and I’m sure some fans would love to own these.

These historical and iconic characters based on the real world people are new and interesting concepts inside Funko and I dig it. I hope we see a lot more of these, as a historian is nice to see an appreciation for icons who pushed the world forward. None of these are exclusive and are all set for common release which I expect would be 2020 you can pre-order yours today which can be located here.

The Warriors Are Getting Funko Pops and We Dig It!

The Warriors are here and they want to come out and play. The Warriors is probably one of my favorite underrated films of all time. The film follows an apocalyptic New York gang, The Warriors as they travel through New York City on the run from every other gang after being blamed for a murder. There’s so much rich history as well as backstory inside this movie that I would just love to see more of. Just when you’re about to forget it Funko brings back the classic with four new The Warriors characters. We have already seen one of the other gang members from the Baseball gang as a Funko Pop Toy Tokyo exclusive from New York Comic Con. This time we are getting four gang member leaders! The Warriors Leader Swan is first up, then we get warlord and former main lieutenant Cochise. Luther the warlord of the Rogues and last but not least the Leader of the Punks. It is interesting that they decided to go the route of the leaders instead of The Warriors themselves but that only means we will be seeing more waves of this cult classic. This is one set of Funko Pops I can’t wait to own.

As of right now, The Warriors Funko Pops are all set as common releases. No release date has been released by Funko just yet I would expect them to hit stores in 2020 but wouldn’t be surprised if we saw them as early as December. You can pre-order them here to save you time.
