Harry Potter Rival Draco Malfoy Gets New Figure from Good Smile

Good Smile Company has announced another Nendoroid for their Harry Potter line of figures. This time we are getting another Quidditch figure as Draco Malfoy enters the field. Funko Pop – My Road to the Avengers

Like all good journeys, this one started out in a different direction and I had help along the way.  My road to the Avengers of Funko started with Team Flash.  I had asked my local gaming shop, the Game King, to keep an eye out for them and I would take at least 3/4 of a set.  When they came in, I was aglow with appreciation to get them.

A gaming buddy of mine’s response to my reaction caused a reaction of his that would change my Pop collection.  John said, “Do you like those Pop figures?”  “Yes”, I said.  “Next week, “John said.  Next week came.  Out of John’s collection of stuff which is usually overflowing with HeroClix and Dice Masters came Captain America and Iron Man.  “Would you like these?”, he asked.  “Of course!”  We arrived at a price of 10$ each and they came home with me.

The following week I was back at the game store trying to figure out what to buy.  In their pile of Funko Pops I found Thor and Black Widow.  I took them home too.

At this point I realized I had 4 of the 6 original members from the Marvel Cinematic Universe.  I now wanted the other two.  Hulk was easy.  A trip to Newberry Comics for a Buy 1 Get 1 at 1/2 price Funko Pop sale netted me the Hulk.  But which version.  And with no Hawkeye in sight, who should I get for the second piece?  Dr Strange filled the slot.

Another BOGO trip to Newberry Comics and I scored Spider-man and Captain Marvel.

Still no Hawkeye.  I turned to the internet.  I found there were multiple versions of Hawkeye available.  The one from the Civil War series was purple.  Comic fans know purple is his usual color.  So that became the one I wanted.  The problem was it was sold in a multipack with a Spider-Man holding Cap’s shield and 2 keyrings.  No way to get it for the average of 10$ I was paying for these.  After a lot of hunting I found someone selling an opened package.  They apparently only wanted the Spider-Man.  Offering to take what was left without the box, which would make the shipping box smaller, I got Hawkeye and the 2 keychains for 14$.

Hulkbuster Ironman was a gift from my son-in-law at Christmas.  He doesn’t fit on the shelf, so he lives in my light box.

At this point, I knew I wasn’t done.  Ant Man came from another BOGO trip to Newberry Comics (with a movie Wonder Woman). and War Machine came from the Game King.

Yes, there are a few missing. Funko, stop messing around and make a new movie Falcon who is not an exclusive so I can get one without breaking the wallet.  Maybe you could make a set for the Falcon / Winter Soldier and Scarlet Witch / Vision tv shows?  And I still need you to make Black Lightning from season 1 of his show and Elongated Man to go with Team Flash.

It was not too long ago that Funko showed off their new dynamic Pop deluxe figure series. These Pops are all exclusive to Amazon and all come in the 6" box styles. The first series was for The Avengers with a recreation of the characters' iconic circling scene. They are coming out every other month which means that these figures will all be reunited after a whole year with six Funko Pop vinyls total. The next series to get this dynamic series is Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Back for the film's 40th anniversary. Collectors were already shown the first figure to come out which was the mysterious Hoth beast, The Wampa. This series will also include 6 Funko Pop figures and will also all be connectable to form a circle uniting all these pieces. Funko decided to stick to the beginning of the film for this Echo Base set and for May the 4th they announced the second figure. This one is based on the Wampa encounter and Luke being left to face the harsh blizzard. His trust pal Han Solo luckily finds Luke and has to resort to a harsh reality. Han Solo uses Luke's lightsaber to cut open the fallen Tauntaun to give Luke a fighting chance. Funko captures this Star Wars moment for the next dynamic deluxe Pop. With a down Tauntaun and Hoth environment at his feet, Han Solo is ready for what comes next. He is sculpted in his winter outfit and with Luke's lightsaber in hand. Funko Soda Yummy Mummy and Fruit Brute Have Arrived

As Funko Soda continues to come out, we here at Bleeding Cool continue to collect them. These are one of the newest products to come out of the Funko-World that bring back limited edition collecting. We have covered quite a few of these Sodas from a Robin Chase here, Emerald City Comic Con Scott Pilgrim Exclusives here, and even Masters of the Universe here. Each one is always fun opening as most come with a chance at a Chase figure. The figures are very limited already so getting them is already a challenge so getting a chase is quite a reward. So far the highest limit has been 10,000 with heroes like Batman and Robin and the lowest of 3,000 like Disco Skeletor or WonderCon Ramona Flowers. This time we were able to secure a couple of the Funko Soda Cereal Ad Icons that were released at the 2020 WonderCon. Yummy Mummy and Fruit Brute were both released on the Funko-Shop and were both limited to 5,000 pieces. Yummy Mummy sold out pretty fast with Fruit Brute not far behind. So let's crack open some Soda in our next Funko review.

Up first is the Cereal Ad Icon Fruit Brute who was limited to only 5,000 pieces. This figure did have an 800LE Chase that was Frankenberry themed. We did not luck out and get the chase but this 4,200LE figure is still pretty amazing. The can features a retro style decal on the front of the can with a WonderCon sticker and the limited edition size next to it. The Funko Soda figures feature the classic Ad Icons look with a Saturday Morning Cartoon charm. He is holding a spoon in hand which any cereal monster obviously would in this situation. As the full moon continues, another monster rises from the cereal boxes with a ghoulish look. Yummy Mummy is up next with a 5,000LE Funko Soda WonderCon Exclusive figure. The can shows a cartoon styled mummy on the front with the added WonderCon sticker. This figure also did have a 1:6 Chase variant that is Fruit Brute themed. Lucky for us we happened to come across this Chase figure it's our pull! This was an exciting surprise to see as there are only 800 of these bad boys out there. The orange, green, and purple colors on the Funko Soda Yummy Mummy gives him more of a gummy look. The figure is nicely sculpted and is quite adorable. From his colors to his cartoony look this is a great figure to get our hands on. The Funko Soda line is a great addition to the collectible world. From their cute and cartoony designs to the limited edition number, it makes hunting each one fun to get and collecting fun again. Get your hands on your own Soda vinyl figures here and test your luck and get your own Chase.
