Mezco Toyz Gives Teaser of Baron Bends and Aquaticons

Mezco has shown off the first teaser for its next original figure. Coming out of the Gomez line, the Rumble Society gets a new member as Baron Bends rises from the depths. We have seen a couple of pictures of him and more during our trip to Toy Fair 2020 which you can find here. Mezco did include a teaser trailer for this figure that shows him off in all his glory. The video introduces us to this mysterious Baron who is sporting a blue diver suit with a powerful spear. The Mezco teaser does show off some LED action which could be a special effect but it would be amazing if we can see it incorporated into the figure. Towards the end of this video, we do get to see an interesting army of possible cyborg piranhas. No official release date has been given for his online drop but I would expect it to come this week. There is a big following to the Original Series Figure Line so exact than to sell out pretty fast, so be on your game to lock down a pre-order here.

This is a figure release I am extremely excited for. Not many toy companies out there still have original ideas let alone produce them. Funko releases their own Plastik series but Mezco brings more to the table. From high quality material, articulation, and a wide variety of accessories they are giving collectors a great figure. Whether your a fan of the Mezco Toyz Originals, Gomez, or the Rumble Society you can hell get behind this figure. If you pay close attention to the teaser video you do get a quick glimpse of new sea creatures. That could be another release later on like the Pink Skulls Chaos Club figures. Hell, if that is the case we might even get some sort of new Gomez agent that is tasked to defeat this Baron Bends, which would be glorious. Batman Week Starts Here with Bleeding Cool Collectibles

Batman is one of the biggest superheroes in the world of comic books. Everyone knows his story and the legacy he has left behind. Leaving behind a legacy for this many years obviously means they will release collectibles to bring fans the character they love home. From statues and action figures to Funko Pops, the Dark Knight has defiantly made an impact on the toy world. Bleeding Cool is dedicating this week to Batman and his impact on Pop culture. We will be covering all of his best collectibles from high valued statues, action figures, and so much more from stuff you can buy ASAP to pre-orders to look forward too.

Of course, we are kicking this week off with the main man himself, Batman! We will be discussing 5 collectibles that you won't have to wait around to get and can buy right now. First up we are starting off simple, cheap and just right with the new McFarlane Toys Detective Comics #1000 Batman. We have reviewed this figure before and you can find that review here. He is elegant, nicely designed and comes with just the right amount accessories to please new and old collectors and he is here. Following McFarlane is the Meczo Toyz original designed Ascending Knight Batman. This figure is the first of three figures that shows the Dark Knight throughout his career and this one in the first years of crime fighting. He comes with multiple heads, interchangeable hands, batarangs, and multiple grappling hooks to grasp that perfect pose. He features a fabric style suit and that classic Detective Comics look that any fan could add to their bat cave and is located here. For our next collectible, we are getting animated with Kotobukiya and their Batman: The Animated Series statue. This 8 inch statue shows off the opening sequence of the iconic cartoon as Batman stands proud with the animated background with lightning in the distance. Fans of the series will get a blast from the last with this statue and find yours here.

Staying in the format of new portrayals of Batman, MAFEX brings the one and only Batfleck to life. This Justice League version of the character shows off his new tactical suit from the film. He has three interchangeable heads, hands, batarangs, mines, gernades, and more. His tactical suit is perfectly detailed and designed with a lot of thought. His cape is fabric and lined with wire so you can pose him in a wide variety of ways. This is a figure that can be perfect for any fans collection and whether you're collecting suits or Batmen this is a figure for you and he is here. Last but not least, we are diving into the digital realm with Batman: Arkham Asylum. This franchise opened up new doors to the video game superhero world and it showcased an interesting take on Dark Knight and Joker's relationship. This time DC Collectibles has a 1/2 scale bust of Batman's cowl. There is only 5000 pieces of this bad boy and comes on a simple display base. The sharp ears and rubber design make it an instant classic for any fan of the series or the caped crusader himself.

Batman is a character that has touched home with so many people and will continue on that path. His ability to take on crime head on and look good doing it is something that is just so invigorating to see. These collectibles will enhance any fans collection to some new heights. Scott Pilgrim Cracks Open Some Cans of Exclusive Funko Soda

Funko Soda is still pretty new in the collectibles world and still hasn't quite hit its mark. These collectibles are very underrated and collectors need to get there hands on them. We finally were able to get our Emerald City Comic Con Scott Pilgrim Funko Soda figures after a mailing mix up. It doesn't matter what Soda vinyl it is, it's always nice to get my hands on one and take my chances. Most Funko Soda figures have a 1:6 chase variant and these two also had that chance. Both of these figures are limited to only 4,000 pieces each and to celebrate Emerald City Comic Con, both figures chase has green elements to them which are a nice touch. We didn't get chases in this set of figures but let's not hold out any longer and jump into this review.

First up is the main man himself, Scott Pilgrim. His can shows off a blue/ yellow letter coloring and a cartoon style of him in the center. The cartoon depiction of Scott Pilgrim does throw off a lot of Michael Cera vibes which is pretty interesting. The figure itself is a pretty simple design, his hair is sculpted nice and his clothes are bright in color. He is wearing an Astro Boy shirt which is a nice little nerdy detail. The love interest Ramona Flowers is up next with her pink haired design. She is a little more detailed than Scott with her goggles, outfit, and purse which is nice. They both have a little bit bigger chins which are odd but not a complete turn away from owning them. Her colors are bright and she will defiantly pop on any collectors shelf.

Most Scott Pilgrim Funko stuff is pretty popular amongst the fans. However, these Soda figures did not sell out and you can still find them online. They are priced at $12 each and are both located here. Funko Soda is still new in the world but doesn't miss out on these figures. Whether your a fan of Scott Pilgrim or other licenses out there like Masters of the Universe or Ad Icons these figures are great. It does not look like these collectibles are stopping any time soon so take the risk and snag one up and check them out for yourself.

Funko Pop Batman: Dark Nights Metal Devastator Figure is a Monster

Funko continues to build its ever growing line of Batman Pop Vinyls. Last year we saw a huge variety of figures comes out for the Dark Knight's 80th Anniversary. That trend continues into 2020 as there is just too much Batman to contain in one year alone. This time we are looking into a recent FYE Exclusive figure from the iconic DC Comics storyline Dark Nights Metal. This isn't the first time we have seen some of these other Funko figures get released as The Batman Who Laughs, The Dawnbreaker, Red Death, and Batman the Merciless have already been released. This time we have our hands on The Devastator, this is the Batman who became Doomsday to kill Superman. His story is amazing and his Funko Pop is a true beast and a worthy figure for any collection. Enough talk, let's dive right into our next Funko Pop review!

Right off the bat, you can see the packaging is it's own color and different look than usual. Funko did make black styled packaging with gold trim for the 80th Anniversary of Batman which is lovely. These designs really help with these Dark Universe characters and I hope this trend continues later on. Nothing else stands out from the packaging besides the color as it follows the basic design of the rest Pop line. As for the figure itself, wow, he is truly beast out of the Funko box. He is quite heavy and I'm surprised they didn't want to make him a 6" figure as that would suit his design a lot better. The Devastator is remarkably detailed for a Funko Pop and I'm very fond of what they did to him. His head does turn but it mainly just makes his head tilt rather than a side to side motion. His body has a weathering design and a torn Batman costume surrounding the beast. As this is a Batman /Doomsday fusion, they did capture nice elements of Doomsday from the body structure, spikes, and face. This design makes me think we could get an original comic design of the iconic DC Comics monster later in which I would love! His menacing red eyes are the final piece that really brings this monster to life. Those iconic Funko Pop eyes add this extra level of depth that you usually don't see in their figures. It could the color difference that really makes them pop but it's a beautiful sight none the less.

The Batman Dark Nights Metal Devastator FYE Exclusive Funko Pop is a collector's piece that not only does right by the comic but can please fans. It brings this character to life in a new and fun way that will make any collectors collection rewarding. If you are a completionist like I am, then he is a must have for the rest of the Dark Nights Metal Funko figures. We still have a couple more figures to see as we still need evil Cyborg Batman and Aquaman Batman. You can still add one to your collection today and you will be able to find links located here.
