#Funko Announces #Bandai as Exclusive Distribution Partner Across Japan

EVERETT, Wash.–(BUSINESS WIRE)–Funko, Inc. (“Funko,” or the “Company”) (Nasdaq:FNKO), a leading pop culture consumer products company, today announced that Bandai, the Japanese manufacturer and toy licensee, will become the exclusive distributor for Funko products across Japan.

Bandai will take full control of the distribution channel in Q4 of this year, with the goal of bringing gaming, anime, movie and television Pop! vinyl figurines to mass market within Japan.

Funko Reveals Emerald City Comic Con Retailer Locations

The Funko Emerald City Comic Con has finally come to a close. We got to see a massive amount of exclusive collectibles this year. From Funko Pops, PEZ, and their recent Soda Vinyl line, every collectible had something special to offer this year. We are even getting a couple of very limited edition figures this year so extreme Funko Pop collectors can prepare their wallets. Crusaderette, Grand Budapest Hotel (2-Pack), and Glow in the Dark Loch Ness Monster are all getting 1500 Limited Edition releases. There will also be a 10” Metallic Indiana Jones as well that is limited to only 2000 pieces. All of these Limited Edition Figures will be located only at Emerald City Comic Con expect Loch Ness will only be found at the Funko HQ.

Funko did surprise Funko Fan Club Members too with a special look at where they will be going. You can sign up for the Funko Fan Club here for more access to some great first look news. All the Funko Soda Figure will be shared with Funko-Shop and they are all very limited so good luck. The Crusaderette pins, Pop, and Pop tee will only be available through Reedpop Booth at ECCC. We have included the shared retailer list below and most will be easy to get. Target is always a hit and miss with their release. GameStop in years past has only been getting a certain number per store so smaller areas will have a harder time to find the Pops they want.

Emerald City Comic Con takes place between March 12-15. The releases will either hit stores Thursday or Friday but hard to fingers out as they change every year. What figures will you be going for this year??

Funko Emerald City Comic Con Reveals All in One Place

Emerald City Comic Con is defiantly getting Funko fans excited. We got to see a massive realtor of some great collectibles this year. From limited edition Pop vinyls and Funko Soda the hunt begins yet again. We have located all of the ECCC exclusives in one place for easy access. A lot of green made its appearance this year which is nice since that’s the Emerald City gimmick. My favorite of all the releases was the God Doctor Doom from the 2015 Marvel Comics Event Secret Wars. That slick white outfit will make his Funko Pop Figure really stand out.

Funko Soda is making its first convention exclusive release to this year. These new little collectibles are pretty cute but have the fandom divided. I think they are great designs and the limited edition factor is a huge plus. We don’t get to see a limited edition Funko Figure much anymore do this is a pleasant welcome. Each figure has a chance at a chase variant and that makes it even better. The Scott Pilgrim Figure will easily sell out very fast this year since all of the Scott Pilgrim Stuff usually does.

It was also nice to see some other franchises get exclusives too. Thanos, Dwight, X-Men, and more got some pretty nice figures too. Convention exclusive is what makes collecting special as they only happen once a year. Funko will be releasing a list of where most of these figures will be available. I am sure that the pins and all of the limited edition figures will be found only at the Emerald City Comic Con. Funko Emerald City Comic Con Reveals – Freddy Funko and Crusaderette

It looks like the Emerald City Comic Con reveals are coming to an end as Freddy Funko sends ends the night. This is a very interesting reveal as it is the first Pop Town to get a convention exclusive. I have not bought one of these Pop Towns just yet but they are pretty unique, the Hall of Justice one is amazing. I think my first Pop Town purchase will be My Hero Academia one that is a rumor for the next wave. This time though Freddy Funko is going shopping at Funko HQ in this exclusive. Freddy is holding some well earned Funkos in this set and would be a great piece for any Freddy fan. Next up we are getting the ECCC Mascot the Crusaderette! This is a pretty cool Funko Pop figure and I like her design and she is limited to only 1500 pieces. There will also be a 2-pack pin pack released with both Crusader and Crusaderette that will surely be a Con only release. To top it off you can show off your Crusadette with her own t-shirt as she comes flying in. These will be most likely found only at ECCC so if you’re attending you are the lucky ones. Lastly, it looks like the Loch Ness is making another appearance with a special 1500 LE figure. This will surely go up in value once it’s in the hands of collectors juts like the elusive Green Bigfoot.

Funko Emerald City Comic Con Reveals – Indiana Jones

Indiana Jones is back and not only with a new movie still in the works but with a new Funko Pop that is exclusive to Emerald City Comic Con. Funko has just announced that the famous Archeologist is coming back once again for a special 10” release of the character. This figure will only be 2000 pieces and is a Metallic variant. This is the first 10 inch convention exclusive we have seen and I hope its the last. I am sad that they wasted a perfectly good figure and made it a 10” inch when a normal version would have Grail status. With it being so limited I would expect this to be an ECCC only release and that will be confirmed closer to the conventions start on March 12th.

If you are concerned about getting one for yourself you don’t have to worry too much as Disney Parks will be getting a Non-Metallic 10” version of Indian Jones too. This kind of ruins the rarity of the Emerald City Comic Con version but it is nice to see his return. They are scheduled to release in the Parks February 29th so you don’t have to wait too long for it. I’m sure we will see an abundance of the figure like previous Disney Parks exclusives.
