Nova Lights up the Night with PX Exclusive Funko Pop [Review]
Nova is one of those characters that has some rich storytelling back in the day. He still has a pretty large fan base to this day. I’m honestly surprised they didn’t make a Sam Alexander one first. I know he isn’t the original but his series was booming with Marvel Now years ago. Nova has arrived joins the Marvel Funko Pop ranks. So let us dive deeper and this exclusive Funko Pop.
You always gotta start with the packaging. It’s a big piece of a lot of collectors, especially in the Funko world. Only major parts to point out are the back which just features the name Nova. As well as the PX Exclusive sticker that says 30,000 LE. That isn’t really all the special but it still means it won’t be produced after 30K. So that’s always a plus with a limited edition figure.

As for Nova himself, it is a pretty badass Pop design. The fists outward with the cosmic energy surrounding his hands. He does include a base to stand him up as well. The helmet design is perfect great from the comics. I did notice a couple in-store missing some paint or scuff marks on the lower part of the red star on the helmet. Luckily this one doesn’t have any issue. But be on the lookout Nova Corps if wanting one for yourself.

His costume is also great. I like the sculpt and I love the mold for this. The Proto for this would be a dream to own. Hell any Marvel proto would be a dream to own. No one little secret that I noticed is Nova Glows in the Dark! Usually, this is told on the sticker but you can tell by the paint sometimes. His eyes, chest and his cosmic powers all glow blue. This was a delightful surprise and I’m glad he does because it fits him perfectly. This Funko was a nice surprise and I’m glad I snagged one up.

I found him at FYE as they carry PX Exclusives sometimes. But you can as your local comic shop to order them or you can find them here. As for the 30,000 LE, it isn’t that uncommon for the highly limited number, PX Exclusive has dropped other high numbered Exclusives like Lord Drakkon or the comic versions of Rocket and Star Lord. I hope we can see more cosmic heroes enter the Funko world. Like maybe old school appearances of the other Guardians of the Galaxy? Only time and space can tell!

“Stranger Things” Funko POP! Wave 3 Robin and Alexei Dial It Up to “Eleven” [PREVIEW]
Netflix‘s Stranger Things Season 3 has come and gone (sadly). The third season had an amazing storyline with great character development and even some new additions. Funko is no stranger to Stranger Things POPS! with the already massive collection that’s been released. This time we are getting two more to the series for a Season 3.
First, we are getting our first Robin POP! – now let me clarify that this is the first Robin outside of the 2018 Fundays Exclusive that was a 1,800 LE. This does allow that Funko POP! to stay an exclusive so that is big plus. However, this one includes the board showing Steve how many times he loses. Lastly, we get Alexei, the Russian scientist who loves his Icee (make sure it’s cherry. though). This is a great figure to be adding to the Funko POP! Stranger Things series. It’s a new character and something different that we don’t really see.
I am oddly surprised that we didn’t get to see Dustin’s girlfriend Susan in this wave. With the fandom of Stranger Things massive, you’d think they would add more to this wave. Susan will eventually get her debut sooner or later – maybe as a New York Comic Con (NYCC) exclusive. I also surprised we didn’t get another Steve Harrington – being huge fan favorites, Steve and Dustin have the most Funko POPS! from the Stranger Things series. Until we get updates on a wave 4, I can’t wait to add these two to my collection!

“Guild Wars 2” Announces the Next Season: the Icebrood Saga
The next season of content for ArenaNet’s Guild Wars 2 will take players to the Far Shiverpeaks to combat a new, icy threat. The Icebrood Saga is GW2’s newest collection of episodic content.
Players can get an early taste of the new locations, conflicts, and thrilling story coming to the MMO on September 17 with the release of the prologue episode, Bound by Blood. The entire Icebrood Saga, including Bound by Blood, will be free for players who own Guild Wars 2: Path of Fire, with the first episode launching this fall.
Alongside the new Living World chapter, the first Guild Wars 2 expansion Heart of Thorns will be free for all players who own or purchase Guild Wars 2: Path of Fire, beginning today. Any player who previously purchased Heart of Thorns will receive an exclusive Heart of Thorns Veteran’s Pack of in-game items containing a unique Mordrem glider, “Vanguard” title, and voucher for one of a possible sixteen different gem store armor skins.
The Icebrood Saga marks the beginning of a new adventure in Guild Wars 2’s storyline.
The official description reads:
It is a time of tentative celebration for all the races of Tyria in the wake of the Elder Dragon Kralkatorrik’s heroic defeat by the members of Dragon’s Watch. But whispers from the Northern Shiverpeaks tell tales of ancient forces stirring from their slumber. While the Sons of Svanir—a renegade cult of norn who have turned away from worshipping the Spirits of the Wild—devote themselves to the elder ice dragon Jormag, stories of the dragon’s strength and virtues begin to spread alongside its corrupting influence.
The Icebrood Saga will introduce a wealth of new features, including Strike Missions, which are epic 10-man boss encounters that combine the group coordination skills of raids with the large-scale conflict of a Guild Wars 2 meta event. New boss creatures will also populate the environments of Grothmar Valley and the Northern Shiverpeaks, including the ominous, newly-awakened Drakkar first seen in the original Guild Wars, while new Masteries will be available in Episode One and Episode Two that will explore the history and influence of the Spirits of the Wild, the mystic animal deities of the norn.
Lastly, NCSOFT and ArenaNet are also debuting a variety of Guild Wars 2 product partnerships, including:
- A 20th anniversary art book in collaboration with Dark Horse Comics. Launching in the spring of 2020, the art book will feature an expansive collection of never-before-seen concept art, production material, and creator commentary from the Guild Warsfranchise
- Guild Wars 2 Funko Pop! figures featuring fan-favorite characters. Aurene, Palawa Joko, and Rytlock Brimstone will be available beginning January 2020
- New Guild Wars 2-inspired apparel from Hot Topic and Insert Coin. The clothing range features new t-shirt and hoodie designs
- New Guild Wars 2 mouse pads and phone cases from Razer
- A music streaming partnership with global entertainment and streaming service TIDAL that makes the original musical scores of Path of Fire, Heart of Thorns, and Living World seasons two, three, and four available for listening across the TIDAL platform.
