Let’s Take a Look at Funko’s Godzilla Mystery Minis!

Godzilla and Funko Mystery Minis should have been married together forever. With so many versions of the king of kaiju, along with all of his other famous monster friends, you would think we would be knee-deep in Godzilla related mini-figures. But alas, there is only one released Mystery Mini before the set we are taking a look at today. Now in stores is this Previews Exclusive Godzilla Mystery Minis three-pack. I got my hands on one, so I figured I would show everyone and solve the mystery of the third figure.

This box is fantastic. Two windows show off the two known figures in this set, with the logo from the 2014 Godzilla film and key art from the film as well. The back features Godzilla from that film as well. (Full disclosure: I ripped the box open before I got a picture of the back. Sorry all) I love how it looks like the figures are about to make landfall on the shore to reek havoc.

The figures themselves are pretty cool. They are just vinyl figures. There is zero articulation, all that there is to appreciate here is the sculpt. Some have joked that these look like pickles, and while they aren’t completely wrong (and it is funny), I like the sculpt. The spikes on their backs are awesome, and I love the orange they chose for the burning version. That little bend in the tail is so awesome too. Neat little figures.

Now, for the mystery third figure!

There are two mystery figures, and this pack had the black burning version of Godzilla. I like the look of this one more than even the orange burning version, the black and orange really pop together. The other mystery figure is a 1954 grey version of Godzilla. I am a little sad I didn’t get that one, since it is the classic version. And at $16.99 I won’t be buying another one of these to complete the set.

That is not to say you shouldn’t try your luck with a pack though! I really like this set quite a bit, and they will proudly join my Mystery Minis collection. If you would like one for yourself, you can order one here.

Obviously, Adventure Time wouldn’t be much of an adventure without Finn and Jake, two unlikely brothers, one of them an adolescent human and the other a dog of uncertain age. Sure, Finn’s missing a few teeth from chewing on the occasional rock and Jake wears transparent pants made of spider webs spun by pixies, but that just goes to show that they’ve got a style all their own. From wielding swords of great power to dating Rainicorns, these best buds make the most of their colorful world.

Pay homage to the pinkest scientist-princess this side of the Sea of Something. Princess Bonnibel Bubblegum, also known as Bonnie, Peebles, PB and P-Bups is a fierce defender of her loyal subjects in Candy Kingdom and the Pop! Princess Bubblegum will doubtless be a fierce protector of your collection.

She’s a human. She’s half-demon. She’s a vampire. She’s a radical dame who likes to play games.
Is this starting to feel like an Alanis Morissette song to anyone else? No? Marceline Abadeer is a complicated figure with countless talents, among them soul sucking, levitation, telekinesis and necromancy so if you’re looking to add some edge and possible vampirism to your collection, Marceline’s your human-demon-vampire.

Funko SDCC Exclusives Wave 5: Movies and Games!

Funko has begun revealing their massive amount of SDCC exclusives for 2018. This is the time that all collectors both dread and look forward to all year. As they have been for the last couple of years, a majority of these exclusives will be shared with retailers outside of the con. That list usually does not come out until a day or two before SDCC opens, and rest assured when it does we will share it with you.

This wave is all about movies and video games! Scott Pilgrim collectors are going to be pulling their hair out that’s for sure.

I did not see that Royal Tenenbaums set coming at all. I am not sure how popular that one will be, but I am wrong all the time. Scott Pilgrim sets always sell well, and collectors go crazy for them. These are an annual thing, so it is cool to see them back. That Mad Max Pop Ride has an amazing sculpt, and the box is even cooler. While some interesting choices are here, the Pops and figures themselves are fantastic looking.

Funko Pop Games: Destiny – Sweeper Bot

Soldier: 76, in his Grillmaster: 76 skin from the Overwatch Summer Games event, will be lining the shelves at SDCC this year. Respect the chef!

The two video game releases going to also be popular. That Grillmaster Soldier: 76 is crazy cool. Everything an exclusive should be. Expect that one to sell out. I have zero experience with Destiny, so I will defer to fans about if they are pumped for that one. It looks awesome! Great sculpt.

The Flash gets a Justice League running variant. I don’t really get that from the look of it, but ok. The main event here is the chrome Flash three pack. These will be in high demand more than likely limited in edition size. One needs only to look up the chrome Batman’s or Infinity War chrome Pops to see what everyone will be clamoring for on the show floor.

Also getting an exclusive Pop is Aquaman director James Wan! Funko always brings a director Pop with them to SDCC, and with Aquaman taking the spotlight in a big way at this years convention, this one is a no-brainer. Look for him to possibly sign at the booth t some point as well. This Pop is limited to only 1000 pieces.
